Today was the all valley tournament, and all raven wanted to do was lay in bed staring at her Andrew Garfield poster that was on her ceiling. Unfortunately, she was in another argument with her brother, both standing at the island on opposite sides, not letting one hear each other."Okay first, I called you four times that day, and what the hell were you doing huh?" Raven asked, breaking the silence between the two, finally speaking. Robby didn't know what to say to that, Raven noting his silence.
"Ever since you got that job, you're ditching me to eat dinner with the LaRusso's! Why?" She asked, switching topics on this now. "Who told you that?" Asked Robby, finally speaking.
"Miguel saw you, he was worried LaRusso didn't approve of him being Samantha's boyfriend and then saw you outside with them. That day do you know what I ate?" She asked, Robby immediately feeling bad for her.
"I ate alone at a fast food place, while you got a home cooked meal with strangers." Raven said, Robby shaking his head at that accusation."Hey they aren't strangers. Mr. LaRusso has been very nice to me." He defended. Raven scoffed at her brother, not believing he just said that.
There was a twinkle in her brothers eyes that she's never seen before, she knew he was using Mr.LaRusso as a father figure, which she didn't care about— it was the fact she wasn't seeing him very often anymore. She missed her brother.
"Look it's too late now, after the party Mr.LaRusso and dad came back to the house and he kicked me out when he found out I was his son." Robby sighed, Raven widening her eyes. Unsure of what to say, Raven could only hug him, knowing Mr.LaRusso helped him out a lot.
"I don't need your pity, birdie." He told her, appreciating the hug for a second. "I have to go somewhere, but tonight can we please have dinner or something?" She asked, kissing his head.
"Yes fine." Robby mumbled, hating how she just ruffled his hair. Smiling at her brother and grabbing her backpack, Raven felt bad for leaving him, pressing her lips together. "Where are you even going?" He asked her, Raven trying to figure out what to say.
"Oh just going out, Eli got a new game— they're really good at those kinds of things." Lying straight to her brothers face, Robby let her go, shutting the door behind her as she sighed, feeling a little bad for all the lying and sneaking around.
Grabbing her phone and noticing the time, Raven quickly saw her dad soon pull up, getting in with him. She knew he was MIA for three days, not answering her calls until yesterday night a little too drunk. If she had a car it'd be nice to drive herself around, but unfortunately they can't afford one.
"You alright?" She asked him, throwing her bag into the back. "I'm fine kiddo, let's just get to the damn tournament." He said, revving his anger as his music was playing.
"Dad do you even think I'm ready? Because I don't." Raven told Johnny, her dad looking at her. "Are you kidding me? I have total faith in you." He told her, Raven scrunching her eyebrows together.
"I wish you didn't." Raven mumbled, staring out the window as they drive past all the rich people houses, always fantasizing about living there. She'd had a huge room, not need to worry about money, but unfortunately it wasn't like that, coming back to reality.
Before they knew it, they were at the tournament, getting out of the car together. Walking in silence, all the kids were already there, waiting for him and Raven. "Whatever, we're here, we're gonna have to do it without him." Said Hawk, talking to the group.
"Do what without me?" Johnny asked, all the kids turning to the two. Avoiding eye contact with Miguel and still pissed about the other night, Raven knew she couldn't handle this, having to go inside and huddle up.
