It started getting colder and colder in the office. I couldn't stop trembling. Darth Vader seemed to be busy writing something on a piece of paper. I didn't want him to notice I was cold, but it's not like he would care.
He would probably think I was weak, and I wanted to avoid that, so I tried my best to stop shivering. As I was trying my best to stand still and stop my teeth from making those annoying trembling sounds, he raised his head to look at me.
Shit.
"Stop making so much noise." He told me. He was definitely not in his best mood, I doubt he ever was.
"Y...yeah, sorry. " I apologized in a shaky voice. It was impossible to unhear the trembling of my voice.
"Are you cold, Lillian?" He asked me, his voice was everything but worried it was more of a forced question as if something inside him told him to ask me, but he wasn't a hundred percent sure if he should.
"N...No, I'm f...ine." I said in an even shakier voice, it was getting really cold in that room and the fact that I couldn't move my arms or legs because of the stun cuffs wasn't helping.
I didn't know why I told him I wasn't cold when it was easy to notice that I was freezing. Perhaps because I wanted to keep up my reputation, that was hurt before, when I cried in Jabba's palace. I didn't want to give him the chance to call me weak or even think of me like that.
"Yes you are." He responded to my lie.
He stood up from his chair and walked over to me. Now he was right next to the armchair I was cuffed to. He bowed over me, having a closer look at me. He was so big compared to me, I wouldn't stand a chance in a fight with him. Furthermore, he took off his helmet and left it in front of me on his desk. I was staring at the black helmet, scared to look at him.
"Look at me." He ordered.
I continued to stare at the helmet, without doing as I was told.
"I said look at me, Lillian!" He shouted out.
I turned around to look at him in fear of what would happen next. Would he choke me again?
He was closer than I expected, so I slightly backed away, which led to him coming even closer. I could see every singe centimetre of his skin precisely and every scar he had.
"Why are you lying to me?" He asked me.
"W...what do you mean?" I replied in my trembling voice. My voice wasn't only shaky because of the coldness now, but also out of fright.
"I mean, you just lied to me saying you weren't cold when you are, Lillian." His voice was getting calmer and calmer, giving me some comfort, which I shouldn't feel. He was probably playing one of his wicked games with me.
I didn't reply to his comment, instead I looked down on the floor, I couldn't hold eye contact with him any longer, it was scary and it felt really awkward.
He raised his thumb up and gently placed it on my chin, it sent shivers down my spine, his finger was oddly warm, and I noticed he wasn't wearing his gloves any more. He must have taken them off before starting to write.
He raised my head up with his thumb, making me look into his eyes again. Those gorgeous blue eyes, which were hidden from the rest of the world by the awful helmet.
"So tell me Lillian, are you cold?" He asked me in a manipulative but soothing tone. His expression was serious as he moved his thumb away from my face.
"Y...yes." Fuck my reputation, I was freezing. I was curious of how he would react, but when he moved his arms upwards, prepared to hit me, I quickly closed my eyes and prepared for the load of pain that was coming for me.
How could I actually think he would feel sorry for me, he was a monster and he would always be one!
As I waited for his hand to hit me, I noticed something else touching me. I slowly opened my eyes and looked down at myself to see a black, warm blanket on me. It was Darth Vader's cape, that he had just taken off and gently placed on top of me.
I was surprised. I looked up at him to see him walk towards his desk chair again.
"Thank you." I said to him. I didn't change my mind about him being a monster, but something inside me told me to say that. He was a monster, but he just gave me his cape, so I wouldn't freeze. Was it because I had information he wanted, or was it because he actually cared about me?
----
Some time later, a bunch of Stormtroopers came into the room. They uncuffed me and brought me out of the ship and into the Death Star. Darth Vader's cape was now over my shoulders, I was pulling it over my body with one hand to cover the most private parts of me.
I didn't know where Darth Vader was exactly, but I could feel his presence somewhere behind me.
They guided me back into my cell, the same cell I sat day after day, beaten up and tortured.
I knew something would change, I had information and thanks to the call with Willy I could give them what they wanted. I just had to wait a while for the Jedi to have time to hide. I knew I could do it.
There was one question that was bothering me, what would happen to me after I tell them where the Jedi are located, will they kill me? They will eventually kill me when they find out the Jedi are not where I said they would be, but at least I would die as a Jedi and not a traitor.
