It's been almost a week since Tyler left, and since I watched those tapes in the attic. Mom was back from the hospital, and everything was back to normal... except for Tyler not being here. I needed to face the music and talk to my dad. So I decided to try and find anything with his information on it, but when I found nothing, I walked into moms room and asked her if she knew of a way that I could contact dad. She sighed before saying "I knew this day would come eventually, and started shuffling through her closet when she pulled out a piece of paper and handed it to me. "This has all of your dads information on it. I had it updated each year in case you figured out the truth, and wanted to reach out to him" then she half smiled and said "good luck." I thanked her, then walked into my room and shut the door. For some reason I felt nervous about calling my dad, but dialed the number anyway.

"Hello?" I froze when I heard his voice on the other line. There was a silence before he spoke again saying "Elenora? Is that you on the other end?" I gulped, then said "yeah dad. It's me." "Hi honey. I'm glad that you called me. We have some things that we should discuss." When I didn't say anything he said "How about I meet you at your house in an hour? We can go out to lunch. Does that sound good?" "Yeah, dad. That's fine." "Okay honey. I'll see you soon." And then he hung up the phone and I let out a huge breath.

Once I finished getting dressed and putting on my makeup, I got a text from my dad telling me that he was outside, and then I felt nervous again.

When I opened the door, my dad was standing there smiling. "Hi dad."

The car ride to the restaurant was kind of awkward as he asked me about how me and mom have been the last couple years, and about Tyler. "So, is he your boyfriend?" "I don't know, to be honest...I didn't really think about it much" "you don't know?" "Well, the way we left things is complicated."

Once we arrived to the Starfish Café, I ordered a peach iced tea and a turkey club sandwich, then went outside to go find a table as my dad waited for our food to be ready. It was such a nice day today. Maybe this perfect weather could get my mind off of everything. I glanced to one of the tables in front of ours as I saw a couple smiling and laughing. The way that they looked at each other reminded me of how Tyler used to look into my eyes before he left. He should be fine, right? I'm just overreacting. It's normal for long distance relationships...right? At least I think we were in a relationship.

I decided to look at our old messages, as his words made me smile. "I miss you already. School here seems sort of strange, but maybe that's because I'm new here?" I smiled as I remembered his silly, boyish personality, and how we would have competitions on who would fall asleep first. One time he fell asleep on me, and I could hear him snoring quietly through the phone. Oh, Tyler. How I miss you.

When I looked up, I saw this car fly around the corner and crash into another car, startling me, and making images of my nightmare become vivid again in my mind. I screamed and backed up, as I ran into somebody. I whipped around super fast, with my heart beating pounding as I realized that I had bumped into my dad. "Elenora, are you okay? Did you see something?"

What does he mean did I see something? Doesn't he see the... I turned around to see that people were staring at me now, and that where I had seen the accident happen, there was nothing there. No sign of an accident ever happening.

I'm losing my mind.

"Nothing, dad...I just saw a huge bug." I lied, trying to fake a smile, and slow the pounding in my chest. "We should eat somewhere else. Somewhere quiet. Away from traffic." "Traffic?" My dad said as he looked around not seeing any traffic then said "okay...well, we can eat at the park?" My dad said, now smiling awkwardly. "It will be like a picnic, but without the basket and the blanket. Just a father, daughter day. Okay?" "Okay" I said faking a smile.
