.
I bought painkillers in the nearby drugstore, then bought cleaning materials. Bruh, I am not even gonna start with how his house looked when we arrived.
Shit.
Was.
Everywhere.
Like, literally. His razor was in the living room couch, his toothbrush was in the kitchen sink, his plates had dried rice all over them and are stacked up on the dining table, and his dirty clothes. I let out a sigh. They were a huge mountain-like pile, and I can estimate around a week of consistent laundry for it to run out. This man has been living poorly yet he owns this prestigious publishing company.
It's 3 in the morning, and I surely am almost alone in the streets. Thankfully, his house was not too far from the convenience store, just around the same distance from my
house to the establishment. When I came back to his house, I went straight to his room—
"WHY THE HELL ARE YOU UP?!" I said. I left him all sound asleep, and now he is sitting in front of his personal computer formatting the organization's newspaper and editing those that need to be edited. And, he has a lollipop in his mouth. He looked at me with a neutral expression.
"I'm not paralyzed for goodness' sake. I can still work." He answered. I sighed then hit his arm and he let out a groan then glared at me. "Will you pleassseee stoppp that!"
"No. Until you have learnt to take care of yourself, I won't stop hitting you." I answered then took out a painkiller from the drugstore bag then a glass of water I prepared before I went out. Toji turned his chair to me with a teasing grin.
"Why the sudden worry? I thought we weren't friends?~"
I frowned and bonked him slightly in the head. "Yeah, we're not friends." I said. I handed him the painkiller and the glass of water, and he drank it slowly and gently.
"Hmm, not friends. Then, more than friends?" He said. I froze for a solid 3 seconds before I took the glass of water from him.
"Rest."
He chuckled and faced the computer again. "I'll wait for that answer. No matter how long." He said.
"Oh, here's an answer. Shut up." Then I raised my middle finger which he laughed at as if I told him a joke. I frowned and that made him laugh even more.
To be honest, I had no idea why it took long for me to answer. We're just friends... right? I sighed and held onto my chest trying to make it through my heart beating very fast at this moment for a reason that even I could not understand.
"By the way. Why were you still in the office at that time? Shouldn't you be home?" He asked.
"Just be grateful that I was there. Otherwise, your employees would have witnessed your corpse the next day." I said. I took his umbrella below his bed and threw it at him which he caught with ease. "I wanted to return this. I waited just to ensure that you won't forcefully hand me things once again." I frowned.
