[Long chapter ahead]

Toji's POV

The fear that had me frantic is indescribable. I walked back and forth in front of the delivery room before I had the courage to go inside. They dressed me up, and inside appears my struggling wife. I went beside her and held her hand. Despite the pain, she wanted a normal birth, and I saluted her for that despite worry prevailing over me.

Her cries as she pushed lasted minutes, the most agonizing minutes in my life, the cry of the woman I love the most.

But soon enough... another cry healed the pain, as if repairing my and Yumiko's broken pieces. He rested on her chest... all healthy, all precious.

Yumiko looked up at me and I kissed her forehead.

As the greatest blessing in our lives took his first breath into the world.

Hello, Megumi.

Yumiko's POV

Toji went out to get water and additional things that I might need. It has been 2 days since I've given birth to such a precious angel. He is in my arms while I fed him. I was surprised to see him so healthy and bigger than average, and his eyes were already opened. He closed his eyes until he pulled away. I sat up straight and lifted my legs which were still painful. I carefully put Megumi on my thighs, and held his tiny hands. I kissed his forehead as his eyes wandered on the ceiling still completely clueless of what's going on in his life.

I caressed his soft body and put both my hands on both his sides, protecting him from any harm. If only I could... still be with him for long.

I am surprised, that I survived while giving birth to him despite the estimated percentage that Dr. Kaeru said on her report. I couldn't forget what Toji said after a day of giving birth since he was one of the most scared for my sake since he has heard about my condition. He softly looked at Megumi that day and kissed his newborn son's hand and whispered 'Thank you for saving your mother.'

He is really a blessing. A living miracle. I kissed him again. "I love you, Megumi."

The door opened and I saw a sweet looking Dr. Kaeru smiling as she walked towards me and my son. "Hi, Megumi." She said, then Megumi kicked once and twice. "Still as clumsy as you were in your mommy's tummy!"

Kaeru carried Megumi then I slightly lowered myself onto the hospital bed. I looked at Megumi with a genuine look, not wanting to take my eyes off of him. Kaeru seemed to have noticed.

"How are you feeling?"

"So-so." I said.

"I am happy, that you survived during your childbirth. It's a miracle." She said. Megumi kept on raising his tiny arms as if reaching for Kaeru, his tiny feet still kicking. I took a deep breath in then breathed out hardly, my lips slightly forming a smile as I closed my eyes.

"Yeah... during."

Kaeru gave an 'uncalled for' look, yet her eyes says it all. I looked at her with eyes that lack doubt, resent, and disappointment.

"How long do I have?" I asked.

Kaeru looked at Megumi who held one of her fingers with his tiny hand. Kaeru slowly handed me my baby, before tears streamed down her face. I held her hand and she wiped her tears then looked at me with a smile. I told her beforehand to keep smiling, but she wanted to break out for a short while from the facade she keeps on for me, and there, she rested on my shoulder and cried like a child.
