Chapter 17 - Unexpected Solace!

"Do you like him?" Mihika asks me.

"Can you think about something else, please? I'm seriously done with liking anyone at this moment." I reply.

"Then why did you let him hug you? I hugged you for the first time the day before yesterday. How did he get to hug you?" Shaurya asks.

"He is familiar. He feels good. I trust him, okay? And he knows a lot of things about my family that I can't explain to anyone." I explain.

"What was the marriage thing about?" Rudra asks.

I chuckle, "Our families want us to get married after graduation."

"Yeah, and she had a crush on him when she was a kid." Mihika adds.

"He was cute." I smile, recalling that.

"So, no other boy, huh?" Abhimanyu glares at me.

Is he for real? Well, fuck him! "And she was not a girlfriend?" I snap. I'm done playing hide and seek.

Rudra chuckles, and I shoot him a glare.

"Don't you dare give me that look. He hugged her and heard her nonsense." Rudra warns.

"You didn't say anything either. You are also my friend, just like he is. Why should I expect only him to say anything? Even if it's his girlfriend, and technically we shouldn't interfere. Still, he can take her anywhere and back-bitch about me, hug her, kiss her, make out with her, or even fuck her. I don't care. But how dare she say those things about me? I didn't steal her boyfriend. She can take him and shove him up her ass for all I care!"

I huff out a breath after shouting the speech, heaving heavily. I have no idea what made me say all that.

But I'm feeling much better after the outburst, and I care less about what others think. I'll only attend my lectures and go home if everything gets awkward with these people.

However, Mihika burst out laughing, and others follow her. Rudra's face is priceless, though. I don't think I've ever seen his jaw wide open in shock.

"Why are you shouting at me?" Rudra shouts.

"I don't know. You were right next to me. It was convenient. I guess." I say in a much lower voice than before.

Rudra chuckles at my plight.

"You are unbelievable." Nirvaan remarks.

"I have never seen you get this annoyed before." Shaurya says, but immediately adds, "I take that back. The day of admission was the worst."

"Abby, I'll be sure to arrange a nice funeral for you." Rudra says, laughing at Abhimanyu.

All the confidence is thrown out of the window as my eyes are drawn to Abhimanyu.

But I frown at his cute, amusing smile with his dimples on display.

I shake my head in embarrassment and quickly say, "Sorry."

"I can't believe you used all those curse words in one go." Mihika is still laughing hilariously. "Shove him up her ass." She starts laughing again, which makes everyone around her laugh again. "Well, I don't think he'll fit, Avni." She cackles like a fool at her own statement, and it is a hysterical scene.

I put my head in my hands and look down. Why did I have to say all that stuff? What is wrong with me?

"Aren't you eager to remind us today that we have to leave?" I snap at Shaurya.
