"You are great at multitasking." I say with irritation.
Chubbs hasn't even glimpsed at me since she entered the canteen. First, she was discussing something with Shaurya, and now she's reading her English textbook while occasionally taking a bite from her lunch.
Sometimes, it seems she's only bringing the lunch for me and barely having a few bites from it.
She smiles, marking the important sentence with her left hand expertly, and says, "Even you can be. It's easy when you learn the technique and have a little practice."
"Yeah right. Technique and practice are important." I smirk.
At last, she turns to me and stares for a moment with a frown, "Why do I always think that you are saying something, but you are thinking about something else."
You have no idea. "Maybe you are right."
"What do you exactly mean?"
I chuckle, "Believe me, you don't want to know."
She shakes her head and gets up to wash her hands. Returning to our table, she asks Mihika, "Can you please lend me your account notes today?"
"Sure. I'll give it to you on the way." Mihika says, slurping her Maggie while Nirvaan and Rudra are busy finishing her lunch.
After finishing my lunch, I wash my hands and return to the table, only to hear Chubbs declare, "I'm leaving as soon as Viraat comes."
Everyone's eyes snap to her, and her eyes land on mine. I raise my eyebrow.
I hate that asshole from the moment he crashed into the canteen that day. Every moment I have to share her with him kills me.
"He is coming to the hospital with me. I want to stay with papa until grandma rests. Aarav is alone with him, and papa can be difficult for him to handle." Chubbs blurts out.
First, the marriage talks, and now he's taking my girl to visit her papa. I swear I want to strangle that asshole.
"You didn't allow us to come yesterday." Shaurya frowns.
I'm not a fan of Shaurya, but at times like these, he becomes a bit more tolerable.
"Viraat is family, Shaurya. His parents are doctors and directors of that hospital. I can't stop him anyway. He offered to drive me to the hospital. What's wrong with that?" Chubbs says.
"The problem is that he wants to marry you." Rudra says.
"That's not going to happen. He knows I don't like him." Chubbs smiles.
"Yeah, too bad for me." Viraat rushes behind her and glances at me with amusement dancing in his eyes.
How I wish I could bury him alive with the same amusement.
"Enough of it, Viraat." Chubbs warns him.
"Can you let me sit next to Bubbles?" Viraat asks Shaurya.
"No." There are three voices at the same time. I get closer to her, and Chubbs flinches at hearing my voice so close to her.
While the asshole laughs at us, Chubbs looks at me, pleading with her eyes not to get angry.
Not happening. I don't want them to be alone.
"I promise, I don't like him, and he knows that. Please, trust me." Chubbs whispers to me.
