Abhimanyu
"Wow! How luck am I to meet my lovely brother after so many days." I say as I enter the kitchen and find Bhai drinking his tea.
He's been AWOL for weeks from this house. Always arriving after midnight and leaving before any of us is even awake is a new trait for Bhai. I'm damn sure this has to do something with his girlfriend which he'll still deny having.
"He's avoiding Mogambo as much as possible." Di enters the kitchen, rubbing her eyes.
If not for my exams today, I definitely would've been sleeping right now. "Anyone can decode that, Di. The interesting question is where he is if not at our lovely home." I taunt him, dragging a chair close to him and wiggling my brows.
Di giggles while Bhai nudges my forehead with his fingers, "Concentrate on your exams, lover boy. At least I have not opened a sperm bank, donating them to whoever opens their temporary account with you." Bhai scoffs, eating his bread, butter in a hurry.
"Bhai!" Di hurries to the table, placing my coffee and breads in front of me and her tea on the table, "You've missed so much! He's got a girl he likes." Di almost squeals in her excitement.
Bhai chokes on his tea, and coughs before asking, "One single girl?"
Di burst out laughing and even Bhai joins her.
Why do I tell her anything?
She starts telling him everything she knows and Bhai has a funny expression on his face.
Annoyed by their talking as if I'm not present, I grab my coffee and leave those two snickering behind me.
By the time I get ready for the college, Di and Bhai has left for their work. I check my journal one last time and leave the house, avoiding Mogambo.
I check my phone for the hundredth time this morning.
Chubbs: All the best! See you after the Viva.
She'd got her phone back a few days ago when her relatives gave up convincing her and her uncle finally decided to help her in the transfer procedure.
Now, I hardly get to meet her for more than an hour sometimes. All thanks to court procedures and my girl being the peacemaker between both the families.
Fortunately, they've taken a break till her exams are over, and I'm just relieved to get more of her time.
I adjust the collar of my uniform shirt. The compulsion of the uniform during exams is another annoying aspect of exams. Luckily, for boys only the uniform shirt is a compulsion, and we are free to wear either jeans or formals with it.
However, for girls it's not that simple. They have to wear a salwar kamiz along with the dupatta. Girls do have the option like us boys, but most of the families don't allow that.
I'm very much looking forward to what Chubbs chooses to wear.
I have a fair idea she'll prefer a comfortable shirt but knowing her relatives she probably won't have an option.
In college, I finish my submission and viva early, so I wander around the campus and sit outside the library, studying for the next day's viva while waiting for the others to join.
"Hello, love." A familiar voice calls.
I raise my head to find Amruta with other two girls and Chirag standing in front of me.
