Chapter Eight: Curse Completed

We walk back to the Fort and up the stairs while Evy is thinking.

"We must stop him from regenerating.
Who opened that chest?"

"There was me and Daniels here, and Burns, of course."

Henderson said to Evy while Daniel added.

"And that Egyptologist fellow."

"What about my buddy, Beni?"

"No, he scrammed out of there before we opened the thing."

"Yeah, he was the smart one."

Daniels and Henderson tell Rick what happened.

"Yeah, that sounds like Beni."

"We must find the Egyptologist and bring him back to the safety of the fort before the creature can get to him. - Right."

Evy looked at them when Rick had a look of determination cross his face.

"They stay here. You three, come with me."

"Not me..."

"No, no!"

Rick points to me and Evy when Daniels and Henderson refuse.

"Just a minute! You can't leave me behind like some old carpetbag.
Who put you in charge, O'Connell? What do you think you are doing?"

She said, getting in his face when he looked at her with a sly smile, then lifted her up on his shoulder, then used his spar hand to drag me into the room.

"Jonathan! O'Connell! Sorry, but he's a bit tall. Jonathan, coward that you are..."

"O'Connell, you are not leaving me in here!"

Rick walks out leaving us trapped in the room then I hear the lock click in making me sigh, I decided to day fuck it and get changed to get some rest while Evy is banging the door.

"Jonathan, if you don't open this door in one minute flat...O'Connell... "

*Other side of the door*

"This door doesn't open."

"Let me out of here. She doesn't come out, and no one goes in, right? Right."

"Right?"

Jonathan was not too sure but looked at Rick with a vocal agreed.

"Right."

"O'Connell! Jonathan!"

They could hear a fustrated Evy bit, not a word from Regina, which made them nervous.

"Let's go, Jonathan?"

"Oh, I thought I could just astay at the fort and reconnoiter."

"Now!"

"Yeah, right, We're just gonna rescue the Egyptologist."

*Doctor Allan Chamberlain apartment*

Rick and Jon walk in and see the flat in a state with everything turned over.

"Well, well, well. Let me guess. Spring cleaning?"

"Nice sh*t."

Then Rick saw Beni run and jump out the window. They ran out and chased after him when Rick rammed him to the floor and then walked over to him.

"Oh, Beni, did you fall down? Let me help you up.
You came back from the desert with a new friend, didn't you, Beni?"

"What friend? You are my only friend."
