Chapter Nine: Becoming One (M)

I can see Imhotep looking over the group when he spots Evy and me. He smiles at us and offers both his hands and speaks to us.

"God, he is attractive."

"Yes, he is."

I said in agreement with her, making the men look at us in disbelief, but Imhotep had one of those sexy smirks at the comments, Beni smirks and translates.

"Come with me, my sacrifice, and my love, It is time to make you mine forever."

"For all eternity, idiot."

Evelyn corrects him with a sneer, making my lips twitched while I looked at Imhotep, who is only looking at me with an almost pleading look, but Beni carried on while Imhotep speaks.

"Take my hand, my star, and I will spare your friends."

"Oh, dear,have you got any bright ideas?"

"I'm thinking, I'm thinking."

"You better think of something fast because if he turns me into a mummy, you're the first one I'm coming after, and heavens knows what he will do to Regina."

She said as we walked forward, Rick pulled her back, but I walked forward and took Imhotep's hand, who held it tightly while looking at Evy.

"No."

"Don't."

"No!"

Rick looked desperately to find a solution, but Evy just smiled at him.

"He has to take me to Hamunaptra to perform the ritual."

Evy smiles at him, and Ardeth puts his hand on Rick shoulder.

"She is right. Live today, fight tomorrow."

Rick let her go where she joined me and Imhotep, who pulled me flush to his body, Rick looked at Imhotep he anger.

"I'll be seeing you again."

Imhotep just smiled before pulling us both along with him.

"Evelyn! Regina!"

They shouted when Beni walked up to Jonathan and searched him till he found the key.

"Hey, that's mine."

"Thank you."

Beni said with a smile before walking after Imhotep when the creature in question called out.

"Kill them all!"

"No! Let go of me! Imhotep. Let go of me!"

Evy was fighting him screaming for him to stop, I pulled her close to me and whispered in her ear that everything would be alright.

"Goodbye, my friend."

"Come here, you little..."

That was the last thing I heard before Imhotep whispered in my ear, causing me to faint.

I was not in darkness for long when my vision changed to oasis land scapes and tall building made of stone and marble with the sun setting and stars were shinning, I knew this was not real but it felt it then I felt him sit next me.

"How long till we are at Hamunaptra?"

"We will arrive soon, my star."

We sat like that for a while before I asked the question I needed to know.

"Why?"

I said, but my voice cracked slightly from he emotion of it.

"Weakness, I was weak. I had the most beautiful woman in Egypt as my wife and I allowed myself to be led astray by Anck-Su-Namun."
