Kathryn POV
Entering the room I saw Gigi still lying down on the bed. This is unlike her.
"Gigi." I called shaking her thighs.
"Oh I am tired, I want to rest a little more." She responded.
"Wake up my mom wants to see you." She spring into her sitting position startling me.
"What? Where is she?" She exclaimed with eyes popping out of her head.
"She is not here dumbass. She is in her room. Get into the shower so we will go see her before she goes out." I said going out to the kitchen to get something to eat.
I entered the kitchen and found the place almost deserted. "What have these werewolves been eating?" I asked myself as I check the cabinets and freezer.
I found a bowl of apples and decided to help myself, taking two more to share with Gigi, I make my way out of the kitchen to meet Gigi so we will go see my mom.
As I come out of the kitchen, I was startled with the sight of Alpha Clifford standing right in front of me. "What the heck!" I screamed as the apple I was chewing in my mouth flew out of my mouth.
"Kathryn?" Alpha Clifford ask surprise written all over his face.
Regaining my composure, I put one hand on my waist and the other on the wall beside me, I take a good bite on the apple in the hand resting on the wall.
"What do you expect?" I said chewing the apple furiously. While maintaining eye contact. If it was back then, I would have been submissive, looking at the ground or something, but not anymore. This is a new version of Kate.
"I heard the news. I heard that two beautiful girls arrived at the pack house yesterday. Someone told me you have changed and I can see for myself." Alpha Clifford said brushing his hand through his hair.
I deliberately did a 360 degree turn for him to see me. "See!" I said leaning my face towards him. "You rejected me and it turned out for good." I said and it immediately hit me that Alpha Clifford is not my mate because there is not chemistry between us.
"You are not my mate." He said.
"Wait! We are not mates. So why all the drama?" I asked.
"I almost believed you when you told me you are my mate, but I was more than 18 last year. If you were my mate, I would have known it. I only became curious when I didn't find my mate after you left."
"So we are not mates." I remember the discussion I had with Gigi when I said that. "Gigi!" I shouted.
"Who is that?" Alpha Clifford asked.
"She is the girl you heard I came back back with." I said. "Gigi!" I called again running to my room to inform her that Alpha Clifford and I are not mates.
"What is wrong?" Gigi asked meeting me halfway sniffing the air as I made my way to call her.
"What's that?" I asked her.
"I think I smell him." She responded and brush pass me as I look with surprise. Thoughts flying through my mind.
