Gigi POV
My friend is deeply hurt because the person she has been crushing on turned out to be my mate.
It has been two four hours since Kate locked up herself in her room. Her mother has managed to get her to open the door for her but only after promising her that she won't let Clifford and me inside.
We got food for her and gave her mother to give her. Since then we haven't seen Kate's face. I am currently sitting on Clifford's labs with my head on his shoulder.
"Hey mate, are you falling asleep." Clifford whispered.
"Yeah I guess I am tired and sorry for Kate. I actually begged her not to reject you when she come back, not knowing that the person I was begging her not to reject is my mate." I adjusted my head on his chest to a more comfortable position.
"How did you guys even become friends." Clifford asked.
"Kate's mom was my pack's Luna before Alpha Stone killed her husband and took over leadership of the pack." I explained, "When Alpha Stone became alpha of the Black Stone pack, many werewolves left the pack, my parents were one of them. Unfortunately they died." I whispered.
"Oh Sorry about that." Clifford said kissing my hair, "How old were you when they died?"
"I was in grade school. Kate's mom used to visit me with Kate and she would bring provisions and cash to support me until I finished grade school and starting working to survive."
"Don't worry all that is in the past now. You are now my Luna and I am going to take care of you and protect you." Clifford said rubbing my back. My wolf Lily moaned in the background enjoying the company of our mate.
"Thank you." I said wrapping my arms around Clifford's neck.
"So Kate is alpha blooded, and as the only child of her father she is the alpha heir of Black Stone pack?" Clifford asked.
"I don't know how things work. Alpha Stone has children both from his present Luna and other women before he met his present Luna. One of the reasons his father refused him not to be the Alpha was because of his wanton relationship with women."
"I think I know what to do to cheer Kate up." Clifford said.
"What?" I asked, lifting up my head to see his face.
"I will visit the Black Stone pack and gather information about Alpha Stone. I am sure many of the werewolves in Black Stone Pack are not happy with Alpha Stone's imposed leadership." Clifford said.
"Really? You want to do that?" I asked not knowing whether to be happy that Clifford is willing to help Kate become happy again, or afraid I might lose my mate as a result of him getting killed by Alpha Stone as he killed Kate's Father.
"We have to let Kate know before you do anything. I don't want you to die trying to help Kate restore her Alpha position." I said slowly laying my head back on Clifford's chest.
"We will carry her along. And hey, nobody is going to kill me okay, I am here for you and will always be."
