Sorry for not updating for a while. A lot has been happening in my life and had to travel to several places. I am still very busy but the story continues.
I have changed the name of Black Stone Pack to Black Emerald pack.

Kathryn POV
When my eyes fluttered open I found myself staring at my Mom. She slept with me to look after me. I suddenly felt sad that my return must have caused her more pain than joy. We are supposed to be celebrating our time together after missing each other for so long, but no. My obsession with the mate thing has turned everything upside down. I wonder where Gigi and Clifford and could be right now. I took a deep breath turning to lie on my back.
I was in that position for a while thinking about everything that happened yesterday, how I reacted and what could have been different if I found out Clifford is my mate.
Blinking my eyes, I uttered. "Kate, get yourself together and move on. Life happens." I remember my mom is with me in the room so I turn my face to look at her. She is still sleeping, maybe tired from crying with me, petting babysitting me yesterday. She is my only comfort, I reached out my arms to hug her but stopped realizing that I could wake her up.
I rolled off the bed, made my way to the bathroom to brush my teeth, take a bath, before going to get something for breakfast.
Taking off my night gown, I stepped into the shower. When I had finished washing with the shower gel and shampoo Gigi and I brought from the supermarket where we worked, got out and grabbed a towel from the cupboard.
I creep out into the bedroom and grab a clean shirt from the wardrobe Gigi and I arranged before Clifford came and scattered our friendship. As I'm bending over to grab some boxers I hear a growl from behind me. I slowly straighten out and turn around to see my mother fully awake yawning and stretching herself on the bed.
"Good morning mom." I said dropping my towel and quickly pulling on the clothes.
"Good morning dear, you already taken your bath?" she asked.
"Yeah, you were sleeping." Once I'm finished I walk over to give her a good morning hug. "I'm going to make breakfast, see you down there... And you may want a shower first." I wink at her.
"You seem happy today, what's the secret?" I stopped to listen to her. She was smiling.
"Accepting my fate." I responded with a smile also.
"I like that." She said lifting herself off from the bed.
"Thanks mom!" I shouted exiting the door.
Walking down the stairs, I saw Gigi and Clifford sitting in each other's arms. Gigi was sitting on his lab with her arms around his neck. I couldn't make sense of whether they were making out before I walked in on them or not.
"Good morning Kate." Gigi said jumping off Clifford's labs when she saw me. It made me laugh at the thought of making them uncomfortable around me.
"What's up girl." I said trying to create a lighter mood. I noticed she has a new tight fitting gown on.
"I can see someone went shopping." I uttered looking her up and down. She also had new black shoes on.
"I needed something to change into since all my stuffs are in your room."
"O that! You could have come collect them if you wanted... Anyways. I am about to make breakfast. Care to join me?" I asked looking at Clifford thought the corner of my eyes. He still look handsome and calm.
"Kate," Gigi jump to grab my hand as I turn to start walking to the kitchen. "Clifford and I want to go to the Black Emerald Pack today to see how things are over there, we want to know what the situation is in order to know the chances we have of bringing alpha Stone down." I swerved my eyes towards Clifford and he quickly stood up when our eyes met.
"Yah erm. Actually, I wanted to go alone but Gigi wouldn't let me. Beta Stanley and my dad will take care of pack business while we are away."
"You guys are not crazy right?" I ask trying to absorb everything they just said.
"No Kate. We are serious. We leave this morning. We know that Black Properties is a big organization with both humans and werewolves working there. So we want to disguise as humans who just moved into town and we are looking for a job in the organization. I know you might be thinking how are we going to mask our scents and hide the matebond. We have already taken care of that. My dad is in support so, we have my parent's backing."
I can't believe my ears. "Who told you I want anything to do with Black Emerald?" I asked not sure what to say.
"We just want to try." Clifford said.
"Who are you talking with?" Mom called as her footsteps approached down the stairs. This is the pack house, so even though the rooms are fully en-suite with private kitchen and bathrooms, it is not strange running into other pack members.
"Clifford and Gigi." I responded.
"Good morning my children. I can see you are happy together now." My mom said looking at our faces one after the other.
"Mom Clifford and Gigi want to go to Black Emerald as human couple seeking a job in Black Properties." I said folding my hands around my chest.
My mom kept quiet for a second before speaking. "I have been praying that one day Kate will grow to take over the alpha position in Black Emerald Pack with her mate as Alpha and Luna." She looked down. "But she hasn't gone to college yet, and..." My mom choked on a sob.
Taking a step to where she is standing, I wrapped my arms around my mom's waist hugging her. "Mom please don't cry. I don't have to have a degree before I can fulfill my destiny in life."
"We will make that a reality." Clifford said with confidence in his voice.
"Thank you my children. Thank you Gigi." My mom said with her chin on my shoulder.
We escorted Clifford and Gigi to the car since they said they have eaten breakfast before coming to wait for us. I helped Gigi drop the bag she picked from my room containing all her belongings in the car trunk and closed it. Some members of the pack are standing around looking from afar.
"Take care of yourself." Clifford said as he disappeared into the driver side of the car shutting the door.
Gigi hugged me again, "I will miss you Kate."
"Please come back alive." I said breaking the hug. "Go before he start blaring the horn on you." I said.
Waving at us, we watch Alpha Clifford and my best friend zoom off to Black Emerald pack.
