Kathryn POV
"Good morning dear. Are you the friend Kate told me she came back with?" I could hear my mom's voice behind the door.
"Yes ma..." Gigi was responding when I flanked the door open cutting her off. I fly on my mother giving her a tight hug as I sob into neck chest.
"What happen, why are you crying?" I could hear my mom's frantic questions as she wraps her arms around me in a motherly hug.
"Mommy...." I said sobbing, "Gigi took my mate ahhhhh." I was crying.
"Your mate?" My mommy asked. Just then Alpha Clifford appeared behind her.
As soon as I set my eyes on Clifford, I shouted, "That's him, he was kissing Gigi right in front of me."
My mother swirls around to see who I was talking about. "Good morning Melissa." Clifford greeted my mom.
"Alpha Clifford....!" Mom called his name trailing off.
"Yes Ma'am. Kathryn came with her friend who happens to be my mate so, I... I..." Clifford wanted to say something but trailed off when our eyes met.
Gigi who had been silent all this while approached me she said, "I am sorry Pa..." She touched my waist.
"Take your hands off me you wore." The word slipped out of my mouth without thinking. I quickly brought my two hands to my mouth to cover it, but it was too late. I had already said it.
I saw Gigi withdraw her hand and lowered her face. I saw a tear fall from her eyes and I realize that I have hurt my friend with that one word.
Walking over to her and holding her hand, I said. "I am sorry Gigi, Please forgive me I don't know what came over me."
She wiped her face with the back of her hand and said nodding her head, "It's OK I understand. You have loved him all your life thinking he will be your mate, but the mat bond was true strong for me to refuse him."
"We are sorry Kate." Alpha Clifford called me Kate for the first time.
"It's okay." I responded, inhaling with my nose and smiling with tears in my eyes.
"Gigi you can have your mate." I said as more tears flowed out of my eyes. I didn't know I have loved this guy so much that it hurts to see him with my best friend, even though he is not my mate.
"I am sorry Kate." My mom said as she walk over to me and hug me. More tears flowed out of my eyes as I cry into her neck.
"I haven't found my mate mom. At 18. Ahhhh" I said crying louder.
"You are just 18 Kate, You will find your mate very soon. Stop crying dear." My mom said patting my back.
"Yes Kate, look at us." Clifford said with his hand around Gigi's waist, I am 22, I have been looking for my mate for the last for years before meeting Gigi today.
"You guys have no idea how it feels to get rejected all the time." I said running back to my room.
I am hurt because I thought things would change after running away and getting into shape. But here I am back to my normal experience, getting pushed aside as other people are chosen and loved.
