"It's too late." I said with no remorse. "I'm doing good right now and I don't want you to make me homeless again."

"I'm sorry Jhanna, please." He tried to hold by hands but I held it tightly under my armpit.

I know how he is and he loves to touch.

"Why are you here now?" I foreign a worried look.

"I need you. Mih need yuh fih forgive mih..."

"Mih forgive yuh before yuh even know it, Jehvaughn. Mih just start do good fih mih self and mih nuh know if mih can trust yuh again." I'm saying that truthful.

"Yuh can." He's staying it like he's demanding me to. "Yuh can trust mih again, Jhanna. Mih have enough money weh mih can pay yuh double the amount mih tek."

The money he take.

Not stole.

I wanted to laugh and I did.

"Jehvaughn, mih seh mih forgive yuh. I don't need yuh money and yuh don't need to pay mih back. Mih can't stay out here too long cause a work hours this. Have a good life and mih glad yuh alright..." I played.

He stopped me from moving.

"Jhanna, tek mih back. Please. Mih need yuh. Mih will even married yuh. If yuh seh tomorrow mih mek eh happen." He persisted, looking stressed as he pleads.

"Wah happened tu yuh, Jev?" I moved my arm pretending as if I've let my guard down.

Holding his shoulder to further toy with him.

He starts shaking as he starts crying. "Sum'n bad."

"Yuh sick?" I asked.

He shook his head and stoop on the ground.

Still my hand stayed on him as he broke down.

"Jev, yuh need to tell me suh mih can see if mih can help yuh." I stoop beside him, rubbing his shoulder.

"Jhanna, forgive mih."

"Swear to Jesus, mih forgive yuh, Jehvaughn." He knows I don't joke about my Lord.

He ended up on his ass now, so I know it's something serious.

"Mih..."

I returned to work with my head in the clouds.

I don't know whether to rejoice or to pray for him, but I'll do the latter. He needs it.

My coworkers looked at me expecting to see a ring but I barely answer them because Emryn called me to her office.

The feeling was now replaced with fear that she'll suspend me for a week or worst, fire me.

I nervously took a seat and watched her while I held my heart.

She held her round tummy and glared at me as she sat.

Nothing was said for few seconds until she broke the silence.

"Who was that?"

"My first boyfriend, Jehvaughn." I answered and she relaxed a bit.

Now I can calm a little because it's personal talk and not a business lecture.

She looks at my finger and relaxes even more. "What does he want?"

"Are you asking as a boss or a friend?" I raised a brow.

She rolled her eyes. "A friend."

"Okay..."

"Look, Rae. You just got back from off vacation so most of your clients are lined up for next week. This week is just for you to lesson our work load and to help you ease back into your craft. Your work is safe." She reassures me, so I pulled the chair up to start gossip.
