ADRENALINE — CHAPTER 02 mum
23rd october 2023 phoebe's point of view
it's been a long day of rehearsals, los angles night one is tomorrow so we've been preparing all day.
i'm taking a 10 minute break in my dressing room, looking at my phone, it's a terrible habit, i'm checking the message i sent jacob, he still hasn't read it.
a notification pops up at the top of my screen, from my calendar.
mum's birthday
shit. how could i forget? before i can think i'm pressing on james' contact on my phone.
the phone only rings once before i hear james' familiar voice on the other side.
"pheebs?"
"it's mum's birthday" i tell him.
i hear him breath on the other line before answering "i know, rupert already left flowers back in london."
"oh" i respond back softly, it seems like i'm the only one who forgot mum's birthday.
we catch up for about 3 more minutes before i set my phone down and return to rehearsals.
