ADRENALINE — CHAPTER 22 morning pt.2
18th november 2023 jacob's point of view
there's a bright glow peaking in through the curtains of the hotel room.
my body is stiff and sore.
the clock next to me shows the time as 10:32am.
the sheets around my legs are tangled.
phoebe raynott is lying next to me.
and she's naked.
i watch her breath in and out for the next few minutes, i've seen her naked before and done stuff with her, but this is new.
i feel connected to her in a way i never have with anyone.
18 days i've known this girl, not even 3 weeks.
bullets have left guns slower.
and yet i feel tangled to her, everything she does intrigues me.
the way she'll sing along to the car radio, or the little pictures she'll take of anything at any time.
her polite giggle when she doesn't find something funny, but also the way her cheeks heat up when someone really makes her laugh.
i could happily spend the rest of my life just trying to make her laugh.
how when she talks about her mother there's so much happiness in her eyes, with a small glimpse of sadness behind them.
i want to hug her and kiss her and make love to her until any feeling of pain she's ever experienced leaves her body.
she lays there idly as her chest rises and falls, her body is perfect.
she mentioned she used to be a ballet dancer, she's flexible and god, she uses it to her advantage.
the peaceful silence of her breathing is interrupted by a ding on my phone.
i try and slowly reach it off the bedside table, so i don't wake her.
