London had exceeded all of Avery's expectations so far, becoming a dreamlike reality that left her feeling grateful for Omar's presence in her life.
Even as she accompanied him to his work engagements, Avery had been enjoying every moment of the trip. It wouldn't be long before she was back home in Atlanta.
Perched just beyond the reach of the camera's lens, Avery absorbed every word as Omar delved into a podcast discussion about his remarkable journey as a championship-winning boxer.
Admittedly, she didn't know much about the sport, but she sat intrigued as she listened to him talk.
"So, what is the recovery like after a fight?" Nathaniel, the podcast host asked.
Avery watched as Omar leaned back in his chair, a thoughtful expression on his face. "Recovery after a fight is crucial," he began, his voice steady and confident. "Physically, it's about allowing your body to heal, rest, and recover. Mentally, it's about processing the fight, analyzing what went well and what needs improvement."
As Omar spoke, Avery couldn't help but admire his resilience and dedication to his craft. She had always known he was passionate about boxing, but seeing him discuss it with such depth and insight made her appreciate him even more.
Nathaniel nodded, clearly impressed by Omar's response. "And what about the mental aspect of it? How do you stay motivated and focused, especially during the tough times?"
Omar's gaze softened, a hint of vulnerability in his eyes. "It's not always easy," he admitted. "There are days when doubts creep in, when the pressure feels overwhelming. But I have a strong support system, my team, my family, and the people who are important to me." He said glancing at Avery, a small smile playing on his lips.
Avery felt a surge of warmth at his words. She may not have understood all the intricacies of boxing, but she understood the importance of being there for someone you care about.
Omar was definitely someone she cared about.
As the podcast went on, the host delved into more personal questions. There was no denying that outside of being a boxer, Omar's looks attracted a following of their own.
"I hate to be that guy, but I have to ask because the ladies want to know. Is there somebody important in your life?" Nate smirked making Omar laugh.
"There is, yes," Omar confirmed as his eyes met with Avery's. "She's incredibly smart and sexy, and I definitely enjoy spending time with her." He continued, choosing not to say Avery's name to protect her privacy.
They had yet to speak about the confines of their relationship, but in the moment, it seemed like the right thing to say.
Avery felt her cheeks flush with a mix of surprise and delight at Omar's words. The way he looked at her, the sincerity in his voice, it all made her heart flutter. She couldn't help but smile back at him, feeling a newfound sense of closeness between them.
