Then suddenly doorbell rang. Namita ji opened the door and was amazed to see the person standing in front of her.

"Kabir!"

"Hello, auntie," Kabir said, touching Namita ji's feet.

"Hello, son! I thought you wouldn't come because of your meeting, but I'm glad you're here. Come in."

"Oh! Yes! I told Amayra that if the meeting ended on time, I would try to come. She might have thought I wouldn't make it," Kabir quickly interjected.

"Oh, no worries. It's good that you're here for me. That girl is crazy. She always forgets important things," Namita ji joked. Kabir was scanning the room, but he only found Ishan and Ishita sitting there.

"Bhaiya, she's in the kitchen," Ishan whispered in Kabir's ear, realizing whom Kabir was looking for.

"Shut up!"

"Amayra, bring a glass of water, dear," Namita ji called out to her daughter, and in a few moments, Amayra appeared from the kitchen with a glass of water in hand. She was shocked, not because a new guest had arrived among them, but because the guest was Kabir.

Amayra handed Kabir the glass of water, eyeing him curiously.

"Sit here. You've cooked so much today, I feel like you've made enough for the whole neighborhood. Now sit with me for a while," Namita ji said, patting the empty seat beside her, addressing Amayra. "And why didn't you tell us that Kabir would also come? Why do you always forget important things?"

"Ah!... Actually, I was so excited to meet you all that I forgot to mention it."

"You liar. You said I knew that you were coming," Amayra conveyed her message to Kabir through her eyes.

"So what could I do?" Kabir also tried to dodge the conversation in his mind, understanding Amayra's expression.

"Who told you to come here? By what right have you come here?" Amayra questioned.

"By the same right you have to stay at my house."

"You're very bad. You came here just to show off how good you are to everyone."

"I don't need your certification for that. I'm here only for family."

"If I had known you were coming, I would have ordered Italian food for you," Namita ji said, and she had to intervene with her eyes to stop the silent communication between Amayra and Kabir.

"Oh, that's okay. I just came because Ishan and Ishita are leaving directly from here to the airport, so I came to pick up Amayra. Otherwise, she would have had to go home alone," Kabir said with a smile, which made Namita ji happy, and she started worrying a little less about her daughter's future. She began to feel from such a small thing that Kabir was trying to forget his past and move forward in this relationship.

After eating for a while, when Ishan and Ishita left for their honeymoon, Kabir and Amayra also left for their home.

"What do you think of yourself?" Amayra asked Kabir as soon as Kabir started the car.

"Kabir Mehra."

"Oh, please. Why are you here? After saying so clearly that you hate me and my mom, why did you come here?"

"I didn't want your mom to think anything else, and anyway, I don't hate her."

"What else? That I'm stuck in a selfish person's loveless marriage? With someone who hates me and doesn't want to be with me? Well, let me tell you, Mr. Mehra, I don't like you either. In fact, I absolutely dislike you. If God gives me a chance, then I'll pray to be freed from you and this marriage. But you know what? I can't even do that because if I could, I wouldn't throw myself into this fire."

"We have so much in common, don't we?" Kabir said, looking towards the road.

"No. Our thinking is not alike at all. You can't even imagine how angry I get every time I see you around. I just feel like breaking things," Amayra was filled with anger.

"Okay. Then we're soulmates. I feel the same way when I see you," Kabir said calmly.

"Enough. Stop repeating my words. I just... hate you."

"I don't want to echo your words either, but what can I do? You're saying exactly what I'm thinking, what I want to say," Kabir said as he stopped the car in front of his house. Amayra immediately got out of the car as soon as it stopped and walked ahead. She stopped near the main door, waiting for Kabir to come.

"I know how to make my place, I don't need to take someone else's place in your life, in your heart. I can live very well without a place in your heart. And as for the space in your house, I can't do anything about it because you've chosen it yourself. So beware if you ever blame me again the way you were saying just now because this victim game you play doesn't suit your macho image, Mr. Mehra."

Saying this, she moved forward and met her mother in the living room. Amayra hugged her and started telling her about the day. Kabir quietly went to his room. He couldn't understand what he was feeling at the moment.

A few days later, when Kabir returned home from the office in the evening, he saw his mom sitting in the living room.

"Kabir, can I talk to you for a minute?" Sumitra ji asked.

"Yes, Mom. Tell me, what's the matter?" Kabir replied.

"We need to talk to you about Amayra," Indrajeet ji said, also present there.

"What about her?"

"Why isn't she happy, Kabir?" Sumitra ji couldn't hold back anymore.

"Oh... um... w... what did she say to you both?"

"Nothing. She didn't say anything. And that's the problem. She always appears happy in front of us. Never say anything, never complain. We know you're still trying to consider her as your wife, but the way she is, it seems like everything is fine between you two, which is not true. At least not yet. And that's why we feel she's hiding something," Indrajeet ji said with a heavy heart.

"Dad... I..."

"Kabir, we know you didn't want this marriage, but as parents, we want to see you happy. And Amayra means everything to us. We want to see her happy too. I feel terribly guilty if Amayra is unhappy because of my son."

"Mom, I'm trying to keep her happy, but it's not easy for me. You know what Mahima meant to me," Kabir replied emotionally.

"We know, Kabir. And we understand your pain too. But now you need to understand that she's gone. You can't live your life in her sorrow. And now Amayra's life is also intertwined with yours. She came to you, leaving her home, because she trusts you. Don't let her trust break, Kabir," Indrajeet patted Kabir's shoulder.

"You know she's a very good girl. And she hides her pain in front of us, even though she knows her husband still loves someone else. It's not easy. At least assure her that you'll forget your past soon. I know she tells me that you're trying, but I don't see it in her eyes. And I miss that bubbly Amayra whom I knew before, who used to be genuinely happy," Sumitra said.

"I'm sorry, Mom. If you feel like I'm not keeping her happy, then I'll try harder."

"Thank you, son. I love you very much, and I love Amayra too. By marrying her, you've given me the greatest joy in the world. Just bring some interest in your marriage now. And I'm sure everything will be fine soon."

"Sure, Mom. I'll go and change now. Has she returned from the orphanage?"

"She must be back anytime. You go change, and I'll prepare dinner."
