The new friendship between Kabir and Amaira was going to be very useful for them in the days to come. They now felt relaxed with each other. They had discussed a lot about each other, things they couldn't share with anyone else. Kabir had told her everything about Mahima and everything related to their marriage had been decided. Amaira knew that Mahima had died after that, so she didn't think it was right to bring up the topic again because it would hurt Kabir.

And there wasn't anything special from Amaira's side to share, so she had told him about the children at her orphanage, the latest happenings in her life, and the new gossip about family members, which sometimes irritated Kabir and amused Amaira. Mostly Kabir ignored it because he knew Amaira told him so that he wouldn't get lost in his own thoughts and would be involved with the family. Kabir began to realize that Amaira was a good life partner who could make anyone happy, but still, he felt that she wasn't genuinely happy. Her laughter seemed forced. But besides that, he had no other way because no one cared whether Amaira was truly happy or not. Sometimes Kabir also got angry with his family because Amaira never fought for herself. Seeing the changes happening in their relationship, these days their families were happy. They also started to feel that soon they would come closer if they continued to have a relaxed attitude towards each other and kept talking like this in the future too.

Kabir began to feel that what his family used to say about Amaira was true, that she was a good girl. Even though he didn't love her, he started to like her character, her behavior, her thinking - everything about Amaira. Because of this, Kabir's family started to think that Kabir had forgotten his love, Mahima, and was moving forward in his life. Amaira hadn't really lost anyone, but she had lost herself. Kabir could see this, yet he was happy with her. He had become accustomed to her habits. But still, he wasn't ready to believe that Amaira was entering his life; instead, he was allowing her to. He missed her when she wasn't around. He started finding various excuses to talk to her, even though he considered himself a serious and less talkative person. He wanted to know what was going on in Amaira's mind. There was something buried deep in Amaira's heart. Kabir didn't know what it was, but he wanted to. Although Amaira was beginning to open up to Kabir a little, she still maintained an emotional distance. Amaira talked to Kabir all day long, but she never talked about her personal thoughts, never. No personal feelings, no desires, no regrets - nothing. And Kabir started to feel a slight irritation that Amaira hadn't yet touched the money Kabir had left in their joint account for her. Except for one or two occasions when she had used it when she went shopping with Mom and had to buy something for the family. Amaira's internship had ended, and Kabir had told her several times to take the driver to the orphanage, but Amaira had flatly refused. She agreed only when Kabir's mom insisted. When Kabir asked Amaira about the money, Amaira dodged the topic by saying she didn't need anything right now and would use it when she did. Unfortunately, she hadn't needed anything so far, so she hadn't had to spend the money. Kabir was confused about how a girl could live without shopping for months. This was just not possible. But Amaira was a living example of this. However, Kabir didn't understand why she was doing this. Kabir also knew that Amaira was no longer taking money from Ishita because Kabir's mom had told Kabir, and he was praised for taking good care of Amaira so she didn't need her sister's money anymore. Kabir was happy to hear this. This was strengthening their relationship. Yes, but it was also true that Amaira was spending less, and whatever she got from the orphanage was enough for her to be happy.

Amaira still kept emotional distance from Kabir, and this started to bother Kabir now. Amaira's good behavior was now beginning to annoy Kabir. The worst part was that Kabir couldn't even tell her about it. His gut feeling was telling him that he needed to know more about Amaira, but he didn't know what. Why isn't she sad when she has lost so much already? Is she really a human or a robot?

"What are you doing here?" Amaira was shocked to see Kabir at her college's convocation day.

"I told you I would come here," Kabir replied, and Amaira stared at him. "Oh, I didn't tell you! I thought I did."

"Why have you come here, Mr. Mehra? What should I do now? How will I face everyone?" Amaira said, looking worried.

"I came here, so what's wrong? Everyone's family is here. And I'm your husband, so I have every right to come here and cheer you on. And who is it that you can't show your face to now because of me? Do you have a secret boyfriend, huh?" Kabir joked, and Amaira's face turned pale.

"No. No one is here. Everyone will think I called you here to show off." Amaira said with a sad tone.

"What? What does that mean?" Kabir asked, confused.

"You are handsome and wealthy, and you were going to marry Mahima, the famous star. They will think I called you here to make them jealous that you are mine now." Amaira was getting angry.

"They are your ex-friends who don't even trust you. Why do you care so much about their opinion when they don't care about you anymore? I'm surprised that I have to make you understand this. Frankly, Amaira, this foolishness doesn't suit you. Now, don't say anything that I call you kiddo. You have said this yourself this time."

"But they are my friends. I genuinely feel bad for losing them."

"Now I'm here for you. You don't need anyone else's validation. And if they think you are showing off by having an affair with me, then show off."

"What?" Amaira was confused.

"Show me off." Kabir said.

"You can't be serious."

"I am serious. Let's go. You'll enjoy it. They deserve a little jealousy for being unfair to you." Kabir said with a mischievous smile.

"I thought you were a boring uncle who's always lost in his thoughts and stays angry, who doesn't know how to have fun."

"Then you don't know me yet. Come on, kiddo, show off your rich and handsome husband." Kabir winked and put his hand on Amaira's waist, then headed towards where everyone was.
