I've seen the world, lit it up as my stage now
Channeling angels in the new age now
Hot summer days, rock and roll
The way you'd play for me at your show
And all the ways I got to know
Your pretty face and electric soul

----

Will you still love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful?
Will you still love me when I got nothing but my aching soul?
I know you will, I know you will, I know that you will
Will you still love me when I'm no longer beautiful?

I couldn't believe it. John B and Sarah were alive. After everything we'd been through, after the chaos and uncertainty, there was a glimmer of hope. The news had spread through our group like wildfire, igniting a sense of relief and joy that I hadn't felt in what seemed like an eternity.

As we made our way to the hospital to visit Carter, my mind raced with a whirlwind of emotions. Carter, my older brother, had enlisted in the military after the turmoil that engulfed our lives a month ago. His sudden departure had left a void in my heart, a sense of abandonment mixed with pride and worry.

"Lils, you good?" JJ's voice pulled me out of my thoughts, and I realized we had arrived at the hospital. Kie, Pope, and JJ stood beside me, their expressions a mix of concern and anticipation.

"Yeah, I'm fine," I replied, trying to sound more composed than I felt. "Let's go see Carter."

We entered his room, and I couldn't help but feel a surge of relief at the sight of him. Despite his injuries, Carter managed a weak smile as we gathered around his bed.

The hospital room was a cacophony of emotions as the Pogues gathered around Carter's bed, their worry etched into every furrowed brow and tense muscle. JJ, Kie, and Pope hovered close, their concern palpable as they awaited Carter's response. I, standing at the foot of the bed, glanced nervously between my brother and my friends, my heart pounding in my chest.

"How've you been, man?" JJ asked, his voice laced with genuine concern.

Carter shrugged slightly, wincing in pain. "Could be better, could be worse. Just glad to see you guys."

Kie's eyes welled up with unshed tears as she reached out to gently touch Carter's unbandaged hand. "We were so worried about you," she murmured, her voice trembling with emotion.

Carter's gaze softened as he looked at her. "I know, Kie. I'm sorry for causing you all so much worry."

Pope cleared his throat, his expression grave. "What happened, Carter? How did you get injured?"
