STRIKE FIRST - A COBRA KAI STORY

C H A P T E R E I G H T

Rae stumbled into the hallway furious at Yasmine, Sam and all the other girls. Poor Aisha didn't deserve any of this treatment. Rae pounded her head against her locker, until she heard some voices shouting.

"Grab him. Grab him!" One voice shouted.

"No. Let me go!" Another shot back.

Rae pondered whether that second voice was Miguel's voice or not. She shook her head in denial before following the voices to check it out.

Rae realised that the voices were coming from the male bathroom. Coincidentally, that was where Demetri, Eli and Miguel where to Rae's knowledge.

She edged in, closer and closer, until coming to the realisation that it was Miguel in there. Kyler Park was beating him up. The anger inside of

Rae turned into flames. All she could see was red. She had to do something.

"Hey!" Rae shouted towards Kyler and his minions. "Leave him alone you fuckers."

"Look, his girlfriend's here." One minion falsely stated.

"Today must be your lucky day 'Reah. You've been saved." Kyler exclaimed sarcastically.

"I'm not his girlfriend. Now let him go. Or.. Or-"

"Or what, hottie? You gonna give us a go?"

"Oooh yeah. Sounds good to me."

"I know a bit of karate." Rae stated.

"You do?" Miguel mouthed, shocked at this fact.

"This keeps getting better and better."

"Yeah, KYLER. So fuck off before I fuck you up. All of you."

"As you say." Kyler imitated leaving the room, but all he did was sucker punch Rae.

Kyler's decision started a whole scene. Rae began kicking and punching like never before. She really wished she let her dad teach her more karate. Kyler fought back; throwing all the jab punches he could. He pushed Rae to the ground next to Miguel. She had several cuts now and a possible black eye.

"We could've done this the easy way, Rae." Kyler smirked as he finally left the room with his goons.

"Miguel... You okay?" Rae forced out with what little strength she had remaining.

"I should be asking you the same question. You were great and all, but erm.." Miguel paused. "He was too strong. It's fine, happens to the best of us." He smiled

About an hour or so later, Johnny stumbled into the bathroom after his encounter with Daniel.

"Rae? The fuck are you doing he- Oh holy shit are you okay?"

Rae nodded reassuringly.

"Miguel, man, you look shitty. Look. I'll take you both back. Gotta recover." Johnny explained.

Rae woke up the next day on the couch, her dad sat next to her.

"Dad? What time is it? Shouldn't I be in school?" Rae asked, concerned.

"Figured I'd give you the day off. You do look terrible. Maybe some Cobra Kai could do you good." Johnny chuckled.

"You know what, Dad? Possibly."

Rae smiled, Johnny copied.

"Right, sweetheart, you gonna tell me what happened?"

Rae sighed. She didn't want to tell her dad what happened; it would worry him, plus he would probably go out looking for vengeance and beat up Kyler. Although, she felt it was the right thing to do.
