Hours later, Johnny was searching through the trunk of his car. The kids were just conversing.
"I can't believe you didn't tell me this was all about Miguel."
"Dad promised me a McDonald's if I kept quiet."
"Fatty."
"Hey!" Rae slapped her brother.
"I think you're forgetting I know karate."
"I know karate too."
"Bet."
The kids began setting up for a fight, getting into their stances.
"Stop it guys. I'm not letting either of you get hurt." Johnny commanded, seemingly out of character. Usually he'd be cheering on a fight.
The kids were confused, but ended up stopping the fight. They shrugged at each other, confused at their father's behaviour, but let it slide.
"Where did LaRusso hide the lug wrench?" Johnny asked himself, frantically moving everything in the car.
Robby walked over, found said lug wrench, and passed it to his father.
"I lived in here, remember?" He smiled.
"Of course I remember."
"Yeah, how could you not." The girl sighed, wanting to be included in the conversation.
"How the hell'd you get this car anyway?" Robby asked, referring to the large vehicle that had an Eagle Fang decal on it.
"I went looking for you." Johnny paused. "After you went missing, me, your sister and LaRusso tried to find you. We found this hunk of junk instead. We found some pissant driving it. We chased him to a chop shop. Ended up fighting the douchebags that stole it."
"I had no idea." Robby said.
"I know I haven't been there for you, Robby. More times than I can count. But I've also failed Miguel. Hell, I'm the reason he ran off in the first place. I'm out here trying to fix my mistakes so I don't have to live with regret. If you're serious about making things right, you can start by helping Miguel. I know you have regrets when it comes to him."
"Kicking him off the balcony." Rae coughed. Both her dad and her brother looked at her in disappointment, so she just turned away and began SnapChatting Demetri. He always sent her funny snaps so she wanted to return the favour by secretly putting filters on her dad and Robby.
"I'm gonna call Carmen. I'll be right back. Finish taking these off." Johnny said before walking over to a muddy corner.
"Sorry about that a second ago." Rae said to Robby.
"Hey, no biggie. I'll just tell Dad that you kissed Miguel." Robby threatened.
"Huh?"
"Yeah, I know."
"Fuck off Robby, I don't even like him."
"Demetri then."
"If that's how we're playing, I'll just say that Tory is pregnant and you're the father."
Robby stared at her.
"Too far?" Rae asked. Robby nodded in response.
The blonde walked over to listen into her father's conversation. It was a bad habit of hers, and she always had her number one new year's resolution being to stop it, but she never could.
"We had car trouble. Be there in a few hours." She heard Johnny say. He looked over to his side for a moment then asked the question, "Any updates? Hear from Miguel?"
