By the time Dante left yesterday, we had managed to ask each other a couple of basic questions but we weren't even halfway done.
When he left, he planted a question in my mind.
What is a little?
He never did answer me and unfortunately, when I went to search it on the internet, my phone died. I was too tired to get up from bed to grab my charger from living room.
Today, when I opened it the first thing I saw was a message from Dante from last night.
I had suggested that we should exchange phone numbers to plan our next encounter but I didn't expect him to actually message me or do it the second he got out of my house. Though, the message he had typed out had nothing to do with the project.
Dante: saturday. be ready at six. i'm picking you up. you'll be home by ten.
I tried to ignore the pain in my chest at the dots, not really great to use them at a person with anxiety. Thankfully, I did manage to convince myself that, that's just the way he texts and didn't show my small panic in my response.
I told him that my dad wouldn't let me and even questioned his intentions but he didn't listen. He copy pasted his message and added one last sentence, telling me to wear a jacket.
When I asked Dad, he surprisingly said yes. He even said that he liked Dante which was kind of weird. I didn't really expect that to happen. Actually, I've never expected him to like any of the people I've brought over. He's never done so in the past.
So now, I was standing by the door, waiting for my phone or the doorbell to ring so my curiosity could finally die down when I find out why he wanted to meet up.
I asked him if we were meeting for the project but he said no. I really don't know why he wants to meet not even twenty four hours after he was in my house.
I got so caught up in trying to figure it out that I created about a hundred scenarios in my head. I had so little time to get dressed yet I was sitting in front of my closet for half an hour. I tried my best to convince myself that we were probably just going to go for a walk and put on my jean skirt and a lilac t-shirt with bananas on it.
Now, I was sitting on the floor of the small foyer putting on my beige converse of which I had taken off all the small colorful shoelace charms days ago.
The doorbell rang.
I've never opened a door so fast in my life - his hand was still halfway to the doorbell.
Oopsie...
"Hi." I mumbled.
"Jacket."
"What?" I slightly frowned.
"I told you to wear a jacket. The weather forecast said there will be rain later."
I reached behind me to grab my jean jacket. "Done."
He stood there for another moment before we walked to his car. He opened the back door for me making me scoff.
"Are you my taxi driver?" I joked.
