Satashi's eyes slowly open. Her fingers curl around the dying blades of yellow grass. She looks up and sees the sky beyond the yellow leaves of the tall trees around her. She is laying there, with an inch of her back showing because her long-sleeved uniform only reaches her skirt's belt line. However, since she has bandages all over her, her skin is still not visible.
She is in a mini forest, though it's not actually a forest; it's beside a three-story clinic building. There are five rows of five trees. Between the first and second rows of trees is a cemented pathway for people.
The dry leaves are falling on the ground, creating a pool of yellow and brown leaves. Satashi takes the quiet woods around her seriously, which is actually her nature. The smell of autumn lingers there, filling her nose with contentment.
Walang nakaka-alam sa kung ano ang kaniyang iniisip. Lagi lamang malamig at walang emosyon ang kaniyang mga mata. Hindi rin nababanat man lang ang kaniyang maykaliitan at pink na labi. Masyado siyang seryosong tao dahilan para mahirap din siyang kilalanin.
Marahan siyang lumingon sa kaniyang gilid ng maramdamang may paparating. Nakita niya ruon ang punong guro ng Lalchandra. Nakatingin ito sa kaniya.
"Your first class will start in 5 minutes. Why are you still here? It's cold in here." wika nito at tumigil di kalayuan.
“Hm. I'm going.” Mahina niyang wika bago tumayo mula sa pagkakahiga at pagpagan ang kaniyang sarili.
“I really regret it all...” bulong ng punong guro na narinig ni Satashi dahilan para mapatigil siya sa paglalakad.
"Hm. I know. But no matter how much you regret things that are already gone, no matter what you did, your heart could never rest." walang emosyong wika ni Satashi habang nakatingin sa mata ng punong guro.
The headmaster's lips were left parted while his eyes filled with nothing but truth and realizations. A gust of wind blew Satashi's hair a little, along with the leaves on the ground and those falling from above.
Headmaster Skargo's view was blocked without a second thought by a leaf, but then, Satashi was nowhere to be found, as if she had just vanished into thin air. Headmaster Skargo was left alone, looking for her but stopped within a moment.
On the other hand, Satashi walks into the hallway all by herself, not minding the judgment and the strange looks in the students' eyes. She walks and turns down the only path on the right side of the hallway.
Continuing to walk down the empty hallway, suddenly, a man appears on the right side. He emerges from a room, swinging his student coat through the air and putting his arms through the sleeves, the door slamming shut behind him as he walks out.
Doing all that within a few seconds, at the same time, Satashi walks past the guy. Everything slows down as their eyes slowly meet each other. The guy's eyes once again grow wide, just like the first time he saw Satashi.
Not knowing him, Satashi continues walking to find her room. The headmaster said Satashi is supposed to start from the bottom class known as 'Zero'.
Ang Zero Class ay ang klase na nasa ilalim pa ng mahaba at basic na mga pag-eensayo hindi gaya ng nasa ibang class na humaharap na sa mahihirap at mapanganib na aktibidad. Ang isa sa halimbawa ng aktibidad na ito ay pagtungo sa mga village upang tingnan ang kalagayan ng mga ito at makipaglaban kung sakali na may dumating na delubyo o mga kalaban.
Dumadating ang araw ng umpisa ng kanilang eksaminasyon at duon malalaman ang mga kaya nilang gawin. Kakailanganin din ni Satashi ang dumalo sa mga ito upang malaman kung anong klase ang dapat niyang kabilangan.
