"do you know joshua? joshua hong? the surfing instructor."

"joshua?.." then he furrowed his brows as he squint his eyes probably remembering if he ever heard or if he does know the person i was looking for. he doesn't looked like a tourist kasi so i asked him instead. "ah, josh! there! the one wearing black rash guard and black swimming trunks."

i looked at him first before i followed where his point finger was pointing to, and the moment i saw where he was trying to lead me to, i squint my eyes trying to see who among them is the person i was looking for and the person he described to me. there really was a person wearing both black trunks and rash guard, but i dont know if he's the one im looking for, pero mukhang si joshua na nga yun because no one was wearing the same color of what he has.

when i already see him, i got back my eyes to the man i asked joshua for. "thank you, mister."

he said his soft you're welcome to me before he got himself back from what he was doing before i approached him. while me, i started to walk to reach to the shore to where that joshua is.

i didnt tore my gaze at him while i was walking towards to his direction as i was trying to recall what does he looked like last night so that i could confirm na tama ba yung taong pupuntahan ko. but the more that im approaching where he is, i just confirmed that he was probably the one i was looking for. the man who i had a conversation with the last night.

that joshua was talking to a lot of people, prolly his student, he was also holding a sky blue surfboard and he was gesturing and pointing kung saan dapat magsimula yung mga taong tinuturuan nya. his students ages from teenager to early twenties as far as ive seen based on how they looked like and a lot of them are boys. i was folding my arms on my chest level the moment i reach where they are, nakatalikod si joshua sakin so he hasn't noticed me yet.

"i told you to wax your board yesterday, right? do you think this will stick to your fooㅡoh.." i let out a chuckled when he turned around while scolding one of his student as he couldn't finish what he was saying when his eyes met mine. he looked surprised. "you really went here, pretty." then the side of his lips rose up.

"i got bored on my hotel so..." our eyes remained glued to each other but he looked away because someone had called him from behind him. he responded to that student of his in hawaiian as i watched how they followed what joshua told them to do. "so this is the part-time job you're telling me last night."

he nodded then he shot me a glance. "yeah, im here every summer. they lacked at surfing instructor so i had to take over." he gestured once again to the students then he went to where they are. "before you fall, make sure you know where you're going to land and if there's any current that might pull you over. i told that many times."

i watched how he instruct three teenagers at the same time. all of them was holding their own individual surfboard, they were listening to what joshua was telling them to do and once they nodded, joshua signaled them to go and catch the waves which made the three of them rush to go to the ocean and they started to go surfing once the wave approached them. the waves aren't that strong, enough for a beginner i guess. plus nasa malapit lang sila at hindi pa lumalagpas sa katawan nila yung tubig.

"do you want to try and learn surfing?" he asked the moment he went back to where i was standing. its not too far from the shore naman.
