Lisa's P.O.V.
A collection of stunning photographs of Jennie and I were scattered across the table in front of us. It was like looking back over a lifetime of happiness, seeped in such nostalgia. At least it was, until now.
As Jennie and I were sat awkwardly in the marriage counsellor's office I picked one of the treasured photographs up, glancing at it sadly. It cast my mind back, reverting to such moments of bliss. Today however was anything but that.
"Time apart?!" Jennie yelled frantically, forcefully throwing the crystal vase that had been placed neatly in the center of the table against the wall on the opposite side of the room watching as it shattered to the floor. All the while, the doctor sat calmly opposite us. I sighed, knowing this day wouldn't end well.
The sound of chiming from above the clock, the doctor scribbling notes as Jennie repeatedly paced backwards and forwards faded into oblivion as we continued yet another argument that would surely end nowhere.
"Jennie, remember being impatient and angry will get you nowhere. Please sit down and we discuss everything calmly." Dr. Sung asked as my wife was stood angrily beside the window, her arms crossed and an icy glare on her face.
"She isn't leaving me! How can you suggest that spending time apart is the solution? I'm paying you a fortune to fix our marriage and that's what you suggest! Time apart... are you joking?" She scoffed, making me roll my eyes.
For the last 40 minutes, I'd been sat with my arms crossed on the couch opposite her listening to Jennie's tone getting angrier. "See? This is a waste of time."
She stormed towards me, sitting down beside me to frantically take my hands in hers. "I'm doing this for you, Lisa! For us and our daughter!"
I snatched my hands away, glaring ahead. "Doing what? Causing a scene? Your jealousy is beyond a 1 hour counselling session, Jennie. You can't seriously expect to solve our problems in an instant!"
"I knew this would happen the day you said you wanted to start at the company." She muttered in dismay.
"And this is the company you work for too Jennie. Pink Venom is it?" Dr. Sung asked, scanning through his notes.
"Yes, it's a fashion magazine. Her mood improving instantly at the mention of the company she adored and had dedicated much of her life to building into the successful powerhouse that it had become today.
"Hmm... I've certainly heard of it. My wife often reads it but I can't really say that I personally know a lot about fashion." Dr. Sung replied as he chuckled cheerfully to lighten the mood.
