Wednesday 11am (Bangkok, Thailand)
Jennie's P.O.V
Being back in Thailand was our home away from home and I could tell Lisa especially was excited to be back, surrounded by such nostalgia.
After landing the day before yesterday, we'd spent much of our time adjusting to the time difference and relaxing around the exclusive and luxurious villa in the center of Bangkok.
It overlooked the far-reaching views of the city which was fitted with temples and buzzing neon signs that lit up the skyline at night. Such a wonder to behold, in a city that was so dear to our hearts holding so many of our wonderful, family memories.
The villa was quiet that morning, peaceful and tranquil as I saw Rina sat outside on one of the sun loungers around the swimming pool, sketching in her notebook. "Hey sweetie."
"Hi." She said quietly, her eyes still focused on the book in front of her.
"What are you doing?" I asked, taking a seat beside her on the sun lounger.
"Just drawing." She was designing a dress, sketching the silhouette with impeccable detail so perfectly that it almost seemed like it could have been printed.
"You designed this? That's beautiful." I stated in awe, making her smile at me before continuing her attention on the drawing.
She focused on the outline, the sound of running water from the nearby fountain adding to a sense of tranquility with the lush greenary around us.
I tried to initiate more of a conversation with her, particularly after the last few weeks had been so awkward. "So do you have have any plans for today?"
Watching as she shaded in part of the dress design, she nodded her head. "I'm waiting for Winter to get ready, she wants to try the street food stalls and then we're going sightseeing."
"That sounds nice. Hope you 2 have a great time." I smiled but she didn't reply, still focused elsewhere.
Sensing the quietness that was only broken by the sketching of her pencil, I tried to initiate yet another conversation between us. It was sad that it had become so difficult for us to talk casually anymore. "So I was thinking we could go out somewhere tomorrow, just the 2 of us."
"Why?" She asked in confusion.
I couldn't help but sigh at how distant we were, running my fingers through her shiny, raven hair that mirrored my own. "To spend time together, we haven't had a good chat up in a while."
"There's a reason for that, you're always busy. It's okay." She muttered quietly under her breath. Though she said it was okay, I could tell by the lingering feeling of sadness that it was far from that.
"Well not on this trip I'm not, I'm here to spend time with you and your mom." I replied, making her smile until my phone began to ring with an update from Rosé on the company's daily progress and the smile on Karina's face instantly faded.
