Warnings: Infidelity and violance!
Jeongin always considered himself a regular guy. Sure, he might be a bit more old-fashioned compared to others his age, but at the end of the day, he was just a normal 18-year-old who had recently started university. That sense of normalcy took an unexpected turn when he noticed a foreign car parked near his home one day. The car stood out, a stark contrast to the usual vehicles in their humble neighborhood. At first, he was merely curious about the fancy car, but his attention shifted when he realized that the people inside were heavily making out.
As he was about to avert his gaze, a strange sense of familiarity struck him. His curiosity got the better of him, prompting him to discreetly observe the car. Despite feeling like a bit of a creep, an instinct in his gut urged him to find out who the woman was. To his surprise, as the woman exited the car, he recognized her – it was none other than his mom. Jeongin suddenly felt a mix of disgust and anger.
Jeongin couldn't believe his eyes. The revelation that his mom had been involved in an affair left him with a tidal wave of emotions—disgust, anger, and a profound sense of betrayal. He continued to observe, hidden from view, as his mom exchanged hurried words with the man in the car before they both went their separate ways.
The weight of this newfound knowledge hung heavily on Jeongin's shoulders as he grappled with the reality of his mom's infidelity. He felt a sense of anger not only towards her but also towards the man involved. The peaceful facade of his family had shattered, revealing a hidden turmoil that Jeongin had been oblivious to.
The following days were excruciating for Jeongin as he struggled to come to terms with what he had witnessed. Confronting his mom about her actions was a daunting prospect, and he wrestled with the idea of whether he should expose the truth or keep it buried to maintain the fragile peace within the family.
One evening, unable to contain his emotions any longer, Jeongin found himself sitting across from his mom at the dinner table. The air was thick with tension as he mustered the courage to address the elephant in the room.
"Mom, we need to talk," he said, his voice quivering with a mix of anger and sadness.
His mom, caught off guard, looked at him with a forced smile. "What's on your mind, sweetheart?"
Jeongin took a deep breath, the weight of his words heavy on his chest. "I saw you with that man in the car. Don't pretend it's nothing. Who is he, and what's going on?"
His mom's expression shifted from feigned innocence to a subtle acknowledgment of guilt. She sighed, realizing that the truth could no longer be concealed. "Jeongin, I... I didn't want you to find out like this."
"Find out what? That you've been cheating?" Jeongin's voice cracked with a mixture of anger and hurt.
His mom nodded, avoiding direct eye contact. "I know it's wrong, and I regret it. It's just... things have been difficult between your father and me, and I made a mistake."
Jeongin felt a surge of frustration. "A mistake? This isn't just a mistake, Mom. It's a betrayal of our family. How could you?"
His mom's eyes welled up with tears, remorse evident in her voice. "Jeongin, I never meant to hurt you or your father. It's complicated, and I'm not proud of my actions."
The room fell into a heavy silence as Jeongin grappled with the reality of his mom's confession. The family he thought he knew was unraveling before his eyes, and he couldn't shake the feeling of profound disappointment.
"Innie, please, I beg of you, don't tell your brothers or your dad," his mom pleaded, her voice trembling with desperation. Jeongin couldn't believe his ears. Was she genuinely sorry, or was she just regretful about getting caught? The trust he had in his mom shattered in that moment, and he felt a profound loss of respect and love for her.
