IT WAS A PECULIAR day in Barcelona, with a mix of clouds and sunshine casting a unique glow over the city. A gentle breeze swept through, carrying a pleasant warmth that made the bushes and palm trees sway in perfect harmony.

Despite the unusual weather, it was undeniably a beautiful day, especially by the beach, where the shimmering waters glistened under the intermittent sunlight, inviting locals and tourists alike to bask in its beauty.

Me, Katie, and Lamine decided to go to the beach for a little while. It had been a while since the three of us hung out together due to our busy schedules, especially Lamine's. Being a player for Barcelona, his commitments often kept him occupied. Despite his involvement with the team, i admit that i knew very little about Barcelona or their players. Nonetheless, I was looking forward to spending some quality time with my friends by the beach.

Lamine always complains about how I don't go to his games, even though I could get tickets for free. I'm fully aware that many people would jump at the chance for free tickets, but I've been busy—or at least I tell myself that.

The beach was packed, with throngs of people in the water, laughing and splashing around. Lamine had decided to wear a "disguise" to avoid being recognized, but if Katie and I were being honest, he still looked the same.

A hat and glasses won't do the trick.

"You're just asking to get noticed," I remarked to Lamine, who had brought a soccer ball with him. "I mean, who brings a soccer ball when they don't want to get noticed?" I couldn't help but chuckle at his attempt at disguise.

Katie laughed as she laid down a pastel pink blanket onto the soft sand, the vibrant color contrasting beautifully with the beach surroundings.

"Well, no shit, you guys know me," Lamine defended himself as he adjusted his glasses. "And I wasn't gonna come empty-handed to the beach," he added, a playful glint in his eye as he gestured to the soccer ball he had brought along.

"Can you guys grab rocks or anything so we can put them on the corners of the blanket?" Katie explained, her voice carrying over the sound of the waves as she gestured towards the blanket laid out on the sand.

Lamine playfully hurled the soccer ball at Katie before sprinting off, leaving her to watch the brown-skinned boy disappear into the distance. "Lamine!" she called out, her voice tinged with a mix of exasperation and amusement, knowing full well that he could still hear her from afar.

I couldn't help but put my hand over my mouth, trying to stifle the laughter bubbling up inside me.

"I mean, he does run fast," Katie stated matter-of-factly, acknowledging one of Lamine's undeniable talent.
