FINALLY- I DIDN'T FORGET TO WRITE LOL
ANYWAYS-
I had a lesson today. It was really fun! We got there and I tacked up and went over to the arena, checked that the Martingale was correct, put on his noseband, tightened the saddle, and the checked that the stirrups were the correct length. Then I mounted and started walking around the arena, tracking left (left shoulder was closest to X aka the middle of the arena, in case some of you don't know that tracking left is.)
Miss Dora had me walk and trot around the arena, then she had me side pass down the short sides of the arena a few times both ways, and then she had me canter a circle a few times in both directions since Bert struggles with cantering circles.
Then Miss Ki had me do some barrel drills. She had me side pass around one of the barrels in both directions, then she had me back around it in both directions, and then she had me trot around one of the barrels a few times, then canter, then canter around that barrel and ride over and canter around another barrel a few times and then go back to the third barrel and canter around it. (Bert ended up just cantering around the third barrel and trotting around the other..)
Then she gave me a different bridle/bit to try and we did the last drill again and then we were done. We're try this new bridle/bit next time I have an event with barrels cuz it's supposed to get him to stop better.
After I walked him around to cool him off, I went and untacked then loaded him up and we went home.
It was a pretty good lesson today. Like always lol.
