I think I'm just gonna start doing monthly updates because I think that might be a bit easier so yeah..

Okay.. lemme see if I can remember everything 😅
So at the beginning of the month we had a lesson and we gave Bert his first injection. That was my first time watching anyone give an injection so I had to watch and learn.
We gave him and injection every four days for seven days. I went back and forth between the left side of the neck and the right side. He won't have to get anymore injections until January, I think.
Anyways.. a few days after that we took him to the equine dentist and they told us to change up his feed since he should have way more weight considering what he eats.
So we changed his feed to a full bucket of alfalfa cubes and a scoop of senior. (He was getting a scoop of alfalfa cubes, two scoops of senior, and a half a scoop of corn. Plus cool calories and electrolytes.)
When we got back from the dentist, I let him graze while I closed up the trailer, cuz Ik he wasn't gonna run away.
He started walking off and stepped on a fence panel that was laying on the ground by the chicken coop (that we never used lol) and he freaked out and backed up, pulling off his shoe.
So yeah..
I didn't ride him until the farrier came cuz I wasn't sure if it would hurt him or not since that was the first time anything like that had happened. I mean, I ride him before he got shoes but still, I didn't want to hurt him since he's so used to having his shoes.
Anyways.. it took the farrier a long time (prolly like.. two weeks) to come. And then my parents got super busy and it seemed like it was raining whenever they weren't busy.. so I didn't have much time to work him.
I had a rodeo on the 29th (the day after my bday) and we did pretty good considering he was out of shape since I wasn't able to work him much.
I got a 23 on barrels and his turns were pretty good!
I got a 34.26 on poles
And I got an 18 on flags. I'm definitely getting better at flags!
