Chapter 22

Sesshomaru's POV

I watched as Sonya stirred in her sleep. Her mumbling my name had awoken me. I originally had thought that something was wrong, only soon to realize that she was simply dreaming. Dreaming about me? What about me? She nuzzled up closer to me and I could hear her heart beat, it was slow and calm, like with waves at night.
Still I couldn't help but feel guilty about what I had done to her last night. Even though I promised I wouldn't unless she'd ask. Even then I would have to consider it because of the condition of her abdomen. Though I had Tenseiga there to revive her, it wasn't right. And even though I was drunk, it's still my fault.
I looked down at her again and found her awake.
"Sesshomaru..." She whispered. I felt so ashamed that I couldn't even look her in the eyes
"I'm so sorry..." I whimpered looking at the ceiling. She sighed, sitting up and running her stomach.
"It's fine...really...besides, we don't even know for sure if we'll end up with a pup." Her words made me choke. It would be horrible to put her through months of pain, only to have not a single pup as an outcome. "It's going to be alright Sesshomaru...even if...you don't plan on using Tenseiga."
What! Why wouldn't I plan on using Tenseiga to revive her!?My father did the same thing! I wouldn't hesitate to bring her back to me.
"But I don't care, as long as I'm with you now...I'll be alright..." She sniffled. -she's crying- I sat up and embraced her in my arms.
I guess I am becoming my father in some ways. Knowing I had yet another meeting with the council, I told Sonya that I needed to leave. Being the understanding person that she is, she kissed me goodbye and I was on my way.
"You must think this through very thoroughly Sesshomaru!" One of them complained
"I have!!"
"You do realize she's going to want something from you!" Said another
"I do!"
"And what will you do when she asks for that!? Hmmm!?"
I sat there with the guiltiest face I could possibly make, plastered on my face. I didn't answer them nor did I look up at them. They all continued to ramble on and on, until they just stopped and stared. When I finally looked up at the eldest council man, he glared knives at me.
"You didn't!"
"I was drunk..." I began
"You did didn't you!!!!!"
"It's not like I did something wrong here!" I growled
"once you mate! You mate for life! There isn't going back now!"
"As if I didn't know that already ! And besides we're married now."
He just rolled his eyes. If he wasn't one of the most important old men, I would have killed him where he stood.
"I've had enough of you Sesshomaru, we tried to tell your father and look at him now!"
I walked up to him and grabbed him by the throat, raising him against the wall.....No I've had enough!
"Do not compare me to him! I am not my father nor will I ever be." I then dropped him to his knees.
"I've tried everything with you! But you are just as arrogant as your father, Im done!!" He yelled, scrambling out of the room. I glared at the others, they just followed along. They just left. It's about time. My father obviously had no sense in picking these old brutes. I was glad they were gone, they've never helped me once. And besides, all I did was disobey them.

Mean while~

Sonya's POV

I sat on the warm beach and just watched the waves roll in and out. I just thought about how I could have something else growing inside me.
I was snapped out of my thoughts when I caught Koga's scent in the wind.
"Sonya?" He questioned, probably noticing the tears in my eyes
"Koga!" I ran up to him and gave him the biggest hug I could possibly give. I knew it was time to say goodbye. What I also knew was, that this was probably going to be the last time I would ever see him. But I didn't want to say goodbye. "You're leaving?"
"Uh yea what's with the watery eye stuff? You're not crying are you! Ummmm, uh please don't cry Sonya, what ever I did Im sorry okay!"
I shook my head
"You didn't do anything....I did." I mumbled, hanging my head low. He seemed to understand what I meant and gave me a hug back in return.
"Sonya...I....I wanna be happy for you, but..."
"I know, I'm probably going to di-"
"Don't say that!" He whimpered, shaking my shoulders
"But it's true, don't worry though, he's going to revive me with Tenseiga." I sighed
"Promise me you'll come back, I wanna be the coolest uncle ever."
"Haha okay, but don't be surprised if I don't come back..."
He just gave me a long glance and nodded his head in response.
"Good-"
"No.....dont say goodbyes." I said hugging him "I hate goodbyes."
"Okay....Ill see you later then Sonya.."
"Alright Koga....be safe okay!" I called after him
"Sure thing take care Sonya!" He called back
"Bye Lady Sonya!" Ginta and Hakaku called back.
"Shut up!" Koga scolded them, socking them on the head. all three soon disappeared in the distance. I was going to miss them.
