Lord Tasho's POV
I knew this would be my fate if I had chosen my family over my life. Though I knew Shesshomaru wouldn't think to highly of my choice, but I knew it would effect Sonya much more. For she didn't have much of a family accept for me and Shesshoamru. Being more of a father figure and just leaving like this, is going to hurt her. She was more understanding than Shesshomaru, so telling her was more reasonable than telling him.
But my family was my top priority none the less. My mate and pup needed me and I had to be there for them.
I had to get though Takimaro first. I knew he was keeping my mate behind locked gates. Though she was in labor, I wanted to be there to see them. Takimaro would do anything to protect her and the child from me. though I would go full demon on his if needed to, I wouldnt hesitate.
Sonya and I ran through the gates, making it to the center block. All the men had fled and Takimaro had emerged from the shadows.
"If you're here for your mate, it's too late"
"What!? Damn you!!!" I screamed
We both ran towards each other, with swords pointed at one another. I swiftly ran past him, slicing him in the arm, with Sonya on my heels.
I had to get to my mate, I caught her scent and the scent of her blood. This worried me even more. She was in a room covered in blankets. She wasn't moving, but I heard an infant's crying.
She was dead.......I pulled out Tensiga and cut the demons down. I was relieved to see her eyes flutter open.
I soon felt the warmth of fire. Takimaro had set the castle ablaze. Quickly thinking, I pulled out the cloth of the fire rat and wrapped it around Izayoi. Having Sonya assist her with the infant, I turned, hearing Takimaro coming.
"Go!" I hollered
"My dearest...." she whispered
Takimaro was inching closer and closer by the second.
"InuYasha...."
"What?"
"The infants name, is InuYasha..."
Sonya's POV
I saw Takimaro emerge from the flames. This guys never gives up!
I then heard Lord Tashio speak. His wife was worried and I helped her carry her child.
The frame of the castle began creaking and I knew it was going to fall eventually. Rubbing my eyes from all the smoke I led Izayoi and InuYasha away from the burning building.
Just before I turned away, I saw Lord Tashio smile at me. My heart ached, knowing that my only father like figure was going to die. I smiled back at him with tears rolling down my cheeks.
I heard the clashing of swords as I lead his family out into the snow. My tears froze against my cheeks from the cold.
When the three of us made it far enough, I looked back at the castle. I could still feel the warm flames against my skin. Then the whole building bellowed before collapsing down on the both of them. I cried even more, knowing that he was gone.
My mourning was stopped by a soft voice behind me.
"Thank you for helping us..." she said bowing
I smiled knowing how sweet she was, I turned to InuYasha. He was a half demon, he had Lord Tashio's silver hair. And he had two little puppy ears. He was so adorable.
"I'm sorry about Lord Tashio.."
She looked up at me.
"He was my life....what was he to you?"
"He was- he was....he was my father..." I whispered with tears falling down my cheeks.
Mioga hopped out of my hair and spoke.
"Sonya, this is Lady Izayoi...."
I bowed in respect. I felt a sharp pain in my leg, I hadn't realized it before. But I had been sliced somehow in the leg.
"You're hurt!?" She exclaimed
"It's nothing, come on lets get you two to a village."

Its been two hours and the blizzard hasn't died down. We were all getting tired. I didn't know how much longer we would last. Then I saw a light not too far ahead.
"Hey!!!!!" I hollered waving my arms hoping they would see us. "Hey over here!!!!!!"
My soul split in two, as I watched the light get fainter and fainter.
"Sonya...." Mioga called. I was getting weaker, it was hard to continue.
I knelt down and prayed to the heavens for help. I wished Shesshomaru were here, he would pick me up and carry me home. But I knew better, he wasn't coming not this time. I was so tired, hungry and cold, my body started to get numb
"You poor child....." Izayoi pitied me....her child's life was on the line and she was worrying about me!? I had a cloak on and even though she had her own, I gave mine to her.
"Keep it." I said "you need it more than I." she accepted it and wrapped it around InuYasha.
"We must go on!" Mioga pleaded
And just as I've given up all hope, the light returned. It was a horse drawn cart. There was a man waving to us.
"Hey over here!" I screamed with my last bit of energy.
The man soon came up to us and asked us we needed a ride. This guy had a lot of junk in his cart, barely any room.....
"I only have room for one of you." he explained
We all knew who was going and who was staying.
"Go." I said to Izayoi, she and InuYasha needed the help.
"Be safe......" I pleaded
"What is your name child?" She asked sadly
"Sonya......."
"You will always be in my thoughts and prayers....Sonya..."
She smiled as they rode off in the opposite direction. I tear rolled down my cheek and it froze on my face. I wish them all the luck in the world.
"Where are we going?" Mioga asked
"Mioga! You're still here!?"
"Of course my lady. My master in trusted me to you."
"I'm lost Mioga....."
"Hmmm I know this rode..there's a trail that goes west, if we take it, we will surely pass My Lord's castle."
So we headed in the direction that Mioga insisted on taking.
