📍Delhi | At The Ahujas'
"Please, Papa, don't do this to me... please!" the young lady cried, clasping her hands together in a desperate plea. Tears streamed down her face, but her father remained unmoved, his heart hardened against her pleas but he had made up his mind-there was no turning back now. Not anymore.
"Nhi Purvi, I am sorry baccha but I can't listen to you anymore, I can't see you like this anymore" he wiped the tears running down his daughter's eyes.
"I'm really happy alone Papa please I don't-" "Do you want your father alive?! Do you want to see your father breathing?! Tell me, Purvi!" Her father said, almost yelling at her as he reached his limits of watching his daughter dying every day, his soul paid watching her being a living corpse.
"Prataap, please don't yell, it's not good for your health" Purvi's mother said, being worried "No, Madhvi! No! It's enough.. I have listened to her enough!!" Prataap exclaimed, leaving the room.
"Purvi, baccha you know your father's health hasn't been well these days please listen to him, I'm also agreeing with him this time we can't see our daughter living like this, please understand baccha" Her mother caressed Purvi's cheeks and wiped her tears.
"Ma, it hurts Ma... it hurts... How can I forget him?"she cried hugging her mother "This is not what I prayed for"
Suddenly they heard a loud thud from Prataap's room, scarring both of them "Papa!" Purvi yelled running towards her father's room, her mother followed her daughter being worried about her husband.
There they saw him lying on the floor in front of the bed "Papa" Purvi sat down taking her father's head on her lap, patted his face trying to wake him up "Papa, wake up! Papa! Ma, call the ambulance now" she told her mother who was already crying.

-at the hospital-
Purvi and Madhvi were outside the ward praying for her father's well being. "Doctor, h-how is my father" Purvi asked as soon as she saw the doctor coming out.
"He's fine for now, I have given him necessary medications...look I don't want to scare you but your father's condition is pretty serious. Today it was a mild heart attack but in future, he might also be at risk of another heart attack or stroke, kidney disorders, and peripheral arterial diseases. He needs to be mindful about his food habits, physical activity now and please do not let him stress in any way"
Purvi nodded and said "I understand, doctor"
"Can we meet him now?" Purvi asked
"He is sleeping now due to the heavy medications he's been put under, but you can see him" the doctor said before leaving.
After Madhvi came out from the room Purvi went inside and sat on the stool near his father's bed.
"I'm sorry, Papa... I have hurted you a lot... I was so busy mourning over him that I didn't care about you and Ma, I am a bad daughter Papa, please forgive me" she cried asking for forgiveness.
"You're not a bad daughter, tum to duniya ki sabse acchi beti ho hume naaz hai humari beti par" Her father said slowly, opening his eyes. [You are the best daughter in the world, we are proud of our daughter]
"Papa, aapko kaisa lag raha hai ab? Kahin koi takleef ho rahi hai? Mein doctor ko bulati hoon" Purvi got up from the seat, restless. [How are you feeling now? Are you facing any problem? I will call the doctor]
"Takleef toh tumhein dekh kar hoti hai, bacchi. Tumhein rote dekh kar hamara dil bhi rota hai," her father said gently. "I'm sorry I tried to force you into marriage. I just want you to move on in life with someone who will love you but in that process I tried to force my opinion on you mujhe maaf kar do baccha" [It hurts so much to see you, my little girl. Seeing you cry, my heart also cries]
"No, you don't have to. I'm sorry I tried to force you, but you don't need to do anything you don't want to, just because I asked," her father said.
"I've thought about it, Papa. I really think I should try-"
Her father interrupted her. "Your brother will be mad if he finds out about this," he warned.
"You're my guardian, Papa, not him! I don't care what he thinks about my life," she replied, her voice laced with anger.
"I can arrange a meeting with them. You can meet him, and if you like him, we can proceed with the arrangements. If not, we'll simply decline. The final decision will be yours. And please, don't say yes just for my sake," he added, his voice carrying a plea.
Purvi nodded in agreement.
"Just don't hide anything from them-"
"They already know, baccha," her father interrupted gently. "And they have no problem with it. They will accept you wholeheartedly."
Purvi's eyes widened in surprise. "T-they really have no problem?" she asked hesitantly.
Her father nodded. "He is a widower, Purvi. His wife passed away two years ago in a tragic incident... Will that be a problem for you?"
She shook her head firmly. "No, of course not."
"I want you to be happy, you deserve happiness baccha but I won't force you to marry, I just want you to give yourself a chance, don't let one tragic loss make you lose yourself, Purvi" her father said.
Purvi held her head down as she didn't want her father to see the tears forming in her eyes.
"I'll give myself a second chance, Papa, I will".
"I will"
