Radiance (Gray Fullbuster Love Story)

Part 1

Natsu, Gray, Erza and Lucy had just returned home after helping save the Masters in clover from the lullaby flute, and they were relaxing in the guild with food and drink to celebrate their win. "Wow, I can't believe it's over" Lucy said leaning her head in one of her hands, "no kidding, I'm glad to rest for bit" Gray said finishing his food, "as much as I would like to rest, I will be taking another job soon, the rest of you are welcome to join" Erza said sipping her drink, "oh yeah" Natsu said pumping his fist in the air, "hey guys" they herd Mira say walking up to the table they were sat at, but she looked a little sad, "everyone is giving a donation for tomorrow, I was wondering if any of you would like to contribute" she asked, Natsu, Gray and Erza the looked down as if they were sad to, including Happy, "what's tomorrow?" Lucy asked, "I keep forgetting how new you are Lucy, it's the birthday of one of our friends tomorrow, Jasmine" she said, "who's Jasmine, have I met her yet?" Lucy asked, "unfortunately no, and we don't know if you ever will" Erza said looking down pained, "did she pass away?" Lucy asked concerned for her friends, "we hope not, we just don't know where she is" Natsu said patting Happy on the head, that's when Gray stood up and slammed his hand on the table, "I need to go" he said and left the guild, "Gray" Lucy whispered as he watched him leave, "Jasmine and Gray used to but heads like he does with Natsu, but when she left without saying anything, it seemed to affect Gray the most" Erza explained. "Come with me Lucy" Mira said, Lucy followed and they walked into the guild's library, Mira picked up a book and pulled out a painting, she then handed it to Lucy. "What's this?" she asked looking at it, "it's what Reedus drew when we were all kids," Mira explained, Lucy then recognized everyone, apart from two little girls, one with white hair like Mira, and one with bright ginger hair, "I don't recognize these two, I'm guessing one of them is Jasmine" Lucy asked. 

"The little girl with white hair is my little sister Lisanna, sadly she is no longer with us, and the girl next to her is Jasmine, they were best friends, they even went on jobs together" Mira explained making Lucy even more interested in her story, "an accident happened while me, Elfman, Lisanna and Jasmine were on a job, and Lisanna died, Jasmine blamed herself for it everyday, and she left without saying a word to anyone" Mira said as a tear rolled down her cheek, "if you don't mind me asking, what magic did she use?" Lucy asked as she put the painting down, "she is a fire dragon slayer like Natsu, but instead of being found and raised by a dragon, her dragon was her birth mother" Mira said making Lucy gasp in shock, "how does that work?" she asked with wide eyes, "her dragon had the ability to turn human to blend in, her name was Saphira the fire dragon, she fell in love with a man and had Jasmine while she was human, but Jasmine's father wanted nothing to with them after finding out the truth, so Jasmine and her mother took off and lived in the woods, and the same thing happened like Natsu, Saphira left, Jasmine learned her powers and she had the ability to turn herself partly into a dragon, changing her skin into scales, and her nails into claws to enhance the power she had, but there was one thing that never added up with Jasmine" Mira said as she put a finger on her chin thinking, "what's that?" Lucy asked, "Jasmine first joined the guild accompanied by Erza, and neither one of them will explain how they met or where they came from, but they both looked devastated and exhausted," Mira explained, "wow, so why was Gray affected the most when she left?" Lucy asked, "no one knows, they would always argue or pick a fight with each other like he does with Natsu, but when we found out she left, Gray was the first one out looking for her, and when we had given up and realized that she was gone for good, he was still looking for her on his own" Mira explained making Lucy feel bad for him, "I better go, it's Jasmine's birthday tomorrow and we all get something to put by her house" Mira said leaving Lucy. 

"I'm going on a solo job with Happy, I'll be back in time tomorrow for when we gather around her house" Natsu said putting a bag on his back, "alright, be safe" Erza said smiling at him. Natsu made his way to the location the job was in, and decided to get a hotel for the night and deal with it in the morning, "nice room" Happy said flying in, "come on, it's not that late and it looks like there is a market outside, let's go check it out" Natsu said leaving the hotel with Happy on his shoulder. As they were walking through the market, they were trying different foods and drinks, and loving every minute of it, until suddenly Natsu had a scent hit his nose, "huh, no it can't be" Natsu said to himself, but Happy herd, "what is it Natsu?" he asked him, but Natsu didn't answer and sniffed the air again, getting the same scent, he followed it and as it got stronger, he knew he was getting closer. "Natsu where are we going?" Happy said to him, "I have to be sure, that scent is familiar" Natsu said as he carried on walking. Natsu was now right on top of the scent, but he couldn't see where it was coming from, until he herd someone speak, "I'll have this one please to take home" a women's voice said, a voice Natsu knew all to well, he turned around and was met with ginger hair and her face facing away from him, but he knew exactly who it was, "Jasmine?" he called out, she froze and slowly turned towards him, "it's you" Natsu said as a little tear showed in the corner of his eye, "Jasmine!" Happy cried as he flew over and hugged himself into her chest, "Natsu, Happy?" Jasmine said questioning if this was real or not. "Your here, your ok?" Natsu said walking up to her and pulling her into a hug, Jasmine hugged back but was still shocked to see them. When they pulled apart Jasmine didn't know what to say to him, but she knew she had to explain herself, "maybe we should go somewhere more private and talk" she suggested, Nastu agreed and followed her to somewhere quiet where they found a bench to sit on.

"How are you?" Jasmine asked him breaking the silence, but Natsu was frustrated and wanted to get the big question out the way, "why did you leave?" he asked dodging her question, "Natsu" Jasmine sighed, "why! You just left without saying anything, we were all worried, we didn't know if you were hurt or even worse, I need to know why" Natsu begged making Jasmine tear up a bit, "I had to, I couldn't take the guilt of Lisanna," Jasmine whimpered and Natsu was shocked, "you weren't to blame for that, it was a accident" Natsu said but Jasmine clenched her fists, "an accident that could have been avoided if I had just got up and protected her, she died because I was weak!" Jasmine yelled, "you weren't weak, you have never been weak Jasmine, no one in the guild blames you for what happened to her, not even Mira or Elfman" Natsu said gritting his teeth, "if you come home you can see for yourself" Natsu said and Jasmine shot her eyes up to look at him shocked, "I can't go home" she said, "what?" Natsu said, "how can I go home after what happened, I can't face them, I'm better of here" Jasmine said, "better for who Jasmine, if anything your weak being here, I can sense your magic power, you haven't eaten fire since you left have you?" Natsu said and Jasmine shook her head saying no, "if I couldn't use my magic to protect someone I cared for, then what's the point in having it at all" Jasmine said standing up, "I'm sorry Natsu, I can't go back, don't tell them you found me there would be no point, I'd be long gone" she said about to walk away, "Gray was the first one looking for you" he said making her stop, "why would he, he hates me" Jasmine said not turning to look at him, "if that was true then why was he looking for you everyday" Natsu said standing up, "it doesn't matter, I'm not apart of Fairy Tail anymore, go home Natsu" she said walking away again, but Natsu wasn't going without a fight, "oh yeah" he shouted and ran towards her turning her around, "then how do you explain this?" he said and ripped the fabric around her right collar bone to reveal the Fairy Tail emblem, "if your done with Fairy Tail, then explain to me why you still have it" he sternly said looking into her blue eyes, Jasmine couldn't bring herself to say anything. "I ain't going anywhere without you, we all miss you, even Gray misses you," Natsu said but Jasmine couldn't look at him as tears fell down her cheek, she then felt something hug her chest, "please come home Jasmine, Fairy Tail isn't the same without you" Happy cried, Jasmine held onto him and burst into tears herself, "ok" she whispered, "I'll come home" she said finally looking Natsu in the eyes, he then pulled her into a hug and squeezed her tight. "Let's go home" he said.
