After the finale (Angelhusk)

Two directions

A few days had passed since the confrontation between me and Angel; we tried to avoid each other in every possible way: I spent day and night at the bar, while he...I don't know...he went out early in the morning to return in the evening when everyone had already gone to bed.

"So Charlie, I booked the table at 8, you'll see we'll have fun!" - I heard Vaggie say to Charlie euphorically

"I don't know Vaggie, after the battle with heaven I'm not really in the mood to go out"

"Come on honey, we deserve it" - said the fallen angel kissing her forehead - "Hey Husk!" - she said turning to me - "You'll take care of closing everything, Charlie and I will be back late tonight"

"Perfect, see you later then! Come on Charlie, let's go" - the two walked towards the exit

I'm starting to get used to being alone, well.. since Angel and I no longer speak I spend most of my day alone, at the bar, with a bottle of cheap booze in my hand.Now that I think about it, I haven't seen him for a while... he always comes back late in the evening and at most I hear the door to his room close when he comes back from going out.Lately he has been spending less and less time at Valentino's studio, or at least that was the case before...What if something bad was happening? What if Valentino had started to hurt him again?I couldn't allow it, I'll wait up for him this evening!

The hours passed, everyone was already in bed, even Vaggie and Charlie had returned from their date, but there was still no sign of Angel.

I was starting to worry...it was very late and still no news about him, who knows where the fuck he went...

The moans from upstairs continue to increase, the room shakes, you can hear the sound of the bed slamming violently against the wall, it's really annoying; maybe it would be a little less if in their place there were me and... FUCK HUSK STAY FOCUS

I hear keys entering the lock and the door opening, he must have returned. I stay behind the counter: I don't want him to think that I was waiting for him, the situation is already too tense.

"Hey Husk, what are you still doing awake?" - I recognize his voice, I calm down

"I couldn't sleep, so I stayed a little longer than usual at the bar" - I say continuing to clean some glasses - "Where have you been?"

"Around" - he replies - "Val has a lot of things on his mind and keeping up with all his projects is very tiring"

I feel my blood boiling in my veins -"What kind of projects?"- I ask hoping for a different answer

"The usual things.. well let's just say that that fuck with the cannibal pool boy isn't the strangest anymore haha" - he says forcing a laugh

I do not answer

"Look Husk I know it's late, but could you make me a drink before you go to bed?"

"Yes, of course, no problem" - I prepare his favorite and place it on the counter in front of him

"Thank you very much!" - he says to me with a hint of a smile

I nod at him and go back to putting away the things used to prepare that drink for him

"Husk listen" – I freeze – "Can we talk? It's a good time, if it's not I understand, we can do it another time, I.."

"No this is not a good time Angel, I'm very tired."

"Of course, don't worry, it was nothing urgent" - I see him lower his head, he seems sad, I'm sorry to see him like this because of me; I take a sigh and take courage:

"You know what? Tell me, I can stay awake a little longer"

His eyes light up -"Thank you.."

We look at each other smiling and then go into the living room and sit on the sofa, next to each other.

"So, I think you can imagine what I want to talk to you about" - he begins

"I'm not stupid, get to the point" - I reply trying not to let a single emotion leak

"Husk, I'm sorry for what I said, I know I hurt you" - he continues - "You're right, you didn't use me for my body, you were so delicate, no one had ever touched me with so much kindness"

"Angel, I'm no longer angry about what you said, don't worry" - I try to reassure him

He shakes his head -"Let me finish"- I fall silent -"I would like things between us to go back to the way they were before, but I understand that it's not possible, so things can go in two directions.."- he takes a short pause, looks at me eyes, I see him in difficulty, he doesn't know how to express himself.

"What would they be?"- I try to defuse the tension

He takes courage and continues: "We could continue to avoid each other due to embarrassment or..we could.."

I take a sip of water, my throat is dry, I'm afraid of what he might say, maybe he doesn't want to see me anymore...or talk to me

"Or we could do it more often" - he concludes

I feel the water go sideways, I cough

"WHAT?!"- I scream- "Shhh do you want to wake everyone up?"- he scolds me

"What the fuck does it mean to do it more often? Have you drunk your brains out? THIS literally ruined our friendship and you want to keep doing it?"

"Husk, listen to me for a second: maybe you're right, this ruined our friendship, but now we can decide whether to end it or let it evolve.."

I look at him in amazement, I'm not sure I fully understood what he was saying

"So you're proposing...that we start dating?"

"As long as you want" - he says nodding - "But if so you have to accept the fact that my freedom is bound by the contract with Valentino and you have to promise me that you will understand if I have to.."

"Angel, I understand, I would never blame you for what that disgusting pig wants to do to you."

His eyes are shining, he hugs me -"Thanks Husk, you're the best"- I hug him back

He pulls away from me and, wiping away his tears, says to me, laughing: "So it's a yes?"

"Let's say it's a maybe" – I reply laughing

"Okay then I'll leave you the night to think about it, goodnight Husky" - he heads upstairs throwing me a kiss

I'm going to finish cleaning up and go to bed.
