That evening I drove for hours, I didn't know where I was going, I just drove, I put my foot on the accelerator and held the steering wheel firmly in my hands. My heart was heavy, my eyes were full of tears and my hands were shaking with anguish.
*third person narrator*
Meanwhile at the hotel everyone else had woken up hearing the heartbreaking screams of Angel calling the bartender's name.
"What happened?"- asked Nifty rushing down the stairs followed by Alastor who looked with his usual sadistic smile at Angel collapsed on the ground sobbing.
A few moments later Charlie and Vaggie also joined them, who, being aware of the situation, asked the others to leave so they could talk freely with Angel about what happened.
"Angie calm down come on, what happened? Have you had a relapse?" Charlie asked, kneeling in front of the spider demon to console him.
She received no response.
"Angel where is Husk?"- Vaggie asked, but Angel couldn't formulate an answer, he just sobbed louder and louder
Charlie hugged him trying to comfort him, but nothing seemed to help -"Did he leave you?"- asked the princess with tears in her eyes
"I don't know.."- Angel replied between sobs
"Impossible.."- Vagatha commented -"What did you do to him?"- she asked him in a slightly harsh tone
"VAGGIE!"- Charlie tried to silence her for fear that Angel would feel accused
"Charlie, I talked to him, he would never have done something like that out of nowhere!"- Vaggie defended herself; Charlie glared at her
"She's right Charlie" - Angel commented about it, keeping his gaze lowered and holding his head in his hands in desperation - "It's my fault."
Charlie sat next to him on the ground, putting a hand on his shoulder: "What happened?"
"He caught me in bed with my boss at the studio.." - Angel said softly, embarrassed
Charlie's eyes widened, while Vaggie simply took a step back with her arms folded, making those in the room realize how disappointed she was in her friend.
"Angel, can you explain better?"- Charlie asked trying to understand the whole dynamic
Angel cleared his throat and dried his tears: "In the last few days things between me and Husk weren't going very well and Valentino sometimes asks me for some extra service before leaving"- his eyes filled with tears again - "I hate it when Val touches me, for a long time now I haven't felt anything except pain when he does it"
"Angie.."- Charlie was visually shocked by Angel's story
"..Today however, when he asked me to undress and go doggy style on the bed I seemed to dissociate myself from what was happening, while he pushed it hard inside me I thought of Husk, of his caresses, of his kisses, I dreamed that he was there with me."- he looked the two girlfriends in the eyes - "When Husk entered he saw me moaning like a filthy slut... for Valentino, but my mind was completely elsewhere"
"Oh Angel, I'm so sorry.."- Charlie started sobbing -"What was Husk doing at the studio?"- she asked
"When Val called me into my dressing room to 'talk' I imagined that it would end badly, so I texted him asking if he could come and get me so I could get out of there in time...I tried to procrastinate hoping that he would arrive in time, but Valentino was particularly impatient and therefore.."- Angel concluded his story
Charlie was visibly shaken and didn't know what advice to give her friend to resolve the issue.
"Vaggie please, say something, don't look at me with that face too" - the spider demon asked the girl, starting to cry louder again
"He's hurt, I would be too."- she replied coldly
"VAGGIE!" Charlie scolded her again
"Stop saying my name!"- she got angry -"Angel, Husk loves you, how could he not be shaken by the situation? You keep him in the dark about everything and promptly snap at him when you can no longer bear all that suffering... that's not how a couple behaves!"
Angel looked at her in astonishment.
"So what I can do for you now is help you get up from the ground, give you a good kick in the ass and send you to find Husk!"- she concluded, look at him, this time with a softened look.
Angel dried his tears, stretched out his arm towards Vaggie who, as promised, helped him to his feet
"Thank you.."- he said
"Don't waste any more time, idiot."- she gently pushed him away, handing him the keys to one of the hotel's cars.
