The date

(The next day)

I was very excited about Angel and I's date that evening; It was now that I was preparing to make a good impression on him: I had showered, fixed my hair, put on perfume and aftershave... I hadn't even touched a sip of booze since I started preparing to avoid him feeling the annoying smell of alcohol; I also wanted to be ALMOST sober to enjoy the evening as best as possible.

*Knock knock* I heard a knock

"Husk is me"

"Come in Vaggie"- I replied as I buttoned the cuffs of my shirt

"So... Charlie told me that you're taking Angel out for dinner tonight" – she told me

"Of course you two tell each other everything... except for the fact that you were an exorcist" - I replied slightly acidly

"Come on, don't sulk, I'm sorry I blurted it out to Charlie, but she was very worried about you two!"- she justified herself

"Don't worry, I'm not angry, but you're still a dick" - I teased her, I was starting to appreciate Vaggie's company

"Right, I deserve it" – she raised his hands playfully – "Where are you taking him?"

"Cannibal Town, in a restaurant where they have live music"

"UUuuu nice!" - she said - "Let me know if it's a nice place, so I can steal your idea in the future and take Charlie there too"

"You'll be the first one I tell" – I reassured her playfully

"Well so tonight is THE NIGHT?"- she asked, placing herself cross-legged on my bed

I looked at her confused, "What the hell do you mean?"

"Come on, you know...tonight someone has to step forward" – he said – "Someone named Husk!"

"Hey, stop, I don't want to put pressure on him, there's no way this will happen on the first date; and regarding 'I love you' I have to see if the right atmosphere is created... I can't mess up this moment!"

"For God's sake Husk Angel is just waiting for you to stuff him like a Thanksgiving turkey!"- she raised her voice.

"AAaand this is the moment you leave my room!"- I told her pointing to the door

"Okay, do as you like, tomorrow you will have to tell me all the details" - she opened the door about to leave - "Good luck!" - she went out closing the door behind her

Once I finished getting settled I went down to the ground floor and left the hotel to avoid Alastor seeing me and asking uncomfortable questions. I waited for Angel in front of the entrance; I feel like I've been waiting for him for hours and hours... it's probably just the emotion that makes me perceive time as so dilated.

I heard footsteps and saw the lights in the corridor come on from outside; I quickly fixed my bow tie and shirt collar, just in time before Angel left the hotel.

"Hey Husky, you look nice!"- he said smiling as soon as he met my gaze

He was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen, he was wearing a tight black dress, flawless makeup and his hair styled to perfection.

"You are beautiful Angel.."- I told him in an embarrassed and enchanted voice

He blushed: "Thank you~" – he replied – "So where are you taking me tonight?"

"You'll see"

We both got into the limo that Charlie had let me borrow for this appointment; Angel set next to me and put both pairs of his arms around mine, I put my hand near his knee.

After a good quarter of an hour we arrived at our destination: "Husk, are you completely crazy?! This is one of the most expensive restaurants in all of hell!"- Angel exclaimed surprised

"Don't worry about it, just think about having fun" - I replied promptly

We entered, the waiters immediately made us sit at our table; I had chosen one on the top floor, overlooking a large glass wall that allowed you to see the whole city.

"How beautiful are the city lights at night" - commented Angel looking outside

"I'm happy you like them!"- I told him

"Good evening, are you ready to order?"

"Yes, we are ready!"- I invited Angel to order first

"Seafood pasta for me!"- he asked politely

"Okay...and for her?"

"The steak, thank you"

"Fantastic! Can I bring you anything else to drink besides water?"

"A bottle of Pinot Noir"

"Excellent choice!" - said the waiter, taking the order to the kitchen

"Husk!"- Angel whispered to me -"But you've gone crazy, that wine is expensive"

"You don't have to worry about this, how many times do I have to repeat it to you!"- I scolded him

"Okay, okay.."- he gave up

After eating, we stayed and talked a little longer at the table while we sipped a coffee to end dinner.

"Anyway, you still haven't told me what you asked Vaggie for advice on!" - he told me

"We talked a bit in general, it wouldn't be an advice if I told you! If I had wanted to talk to you about it, I would have proposed a 4-way outing to discuss our relationship problems haha!" - I told him jokingly

"UUU so are we in a relationship now?"- he asked me resting his head on his hands crossed in a somewhat provocative way

"Hey, take it easy, I didn't say that!"- I replied sarcastically

"That's actually exactly what you said!"

I smiled at him amused -"Shall we go? It's getting late"- I proposed

"Sure!"I paid the bill, leaving a generous tip for the waiters, and we headed to the limousine to go back to the hotel; once again as soon as we got on Angel stood next to me, holding me close: "Thanks Husk, I had a great time tonight"

"You don't have to thank me.. I had a great time too" - I told him softly, caressing his back.
