Chapter 19

Riley's POV
Soon, the ambulance was here. They checked my ankle out and then took me to the hospital to do more of checking it out.

"Babe, I'm so sorry" Colten said as we were waiting in the hospital. My ankle wasn't that bad, just sprained. So they have to put a brace on it then give me crutches.

"Colten, it's fine!" I said giggling. "Just a sprained ankle. It's all good."

"I hurt my baby girl and I'm willy willy sowwy" he said in a baby voice. "Colten, I'm being honest, it's okay. I still love you" I said and kissed his nose.

"Riley?" The nurse called and Colten, Carol and I stood up. "Come with me" she said. We walked with her to a room where they showed me my X-rays.

"We just have to get a brace and you'll have to pay, then you can be on your way!" The nice nurse said with a smile. She walked out of the room to get the right brace.

"Carol, I'm really really sorry taut you have to pay for this! What can I do to make it up to you?" I said to Carol.

"Riley, it's fine. You don't have to do anything but rest your leg!" Carol said happily. "OH MY GOSH!!" Carol exclaimed.

"What? What's wrong, mom?!" Colten asked worried. "We forgot about Kaelee! We never told her we were leaving!" Carol said. "Didnt she hear the sirens?" I asked. "Obviously not. She would've come down right away!!" Colten said. "I'll text her."

Colten got his phone out and texted Kaelee. A few minutes later, his phone buzzed. "Kaelee said that she's okay and that she's sorry about what happened" Colten told us.

A few minutes later, the nurse walked back in with a doctor.

"Hi, Riley. I'm Dr. Reed and I'm here to show you how to put the brace on and the rules of it" Dr. Reed told me. "Okay" I simply said. He showed me how to put the ankle brace on then told the rules.

"Wear it all the time. Rest your leg. That's a very important one. Without rest, it will not get better!" He talked for a whirl but I don't really pay attention. "Okay?" He said. "Huh?- yeah. Okay" I said once I stopped zoning out. "Alright. Have fun resting!" He said and walked out of the room.

Carol paid and then we left.

"Riley. I'm going to help you rest so if you need anything, Let me know!" Colten said when we got home and I was comfortable.

"Okay, babe. I'll be fine though" I said with a smile. Colten put in a movie and laid down on the other couch. "What movie did you put in?" I asked him. "Frozen" he said with a smile. "Oh my god" I said and rolled my eyes. We both laughed a little and the movie started.

*Later into the movie*

The movie started 30 minutes ago and I'm hungry.

"Colten, I'm a little hungry" I said to Colten. "What would you like, babe?" He asked. "Could you please make me Mac and Cheese?" "Sure. Anything for my princess." He stood up and walked into the kitchen.

As the smell of Macaroni hit my nose, I fell asleep.

*10 minutes later*

"Riley....Riley...Riley" I could hear Colten trying to wake me up. "I'm awake" I said all groggy. "Mac and Cheese is ready!" He said and handed it to me. "Thanks" I smiled at him. I sat up and ate the delicious Mac and Cheese.

"Thank you so much!" I said when I finished eating it. "Welcome. Do you need anything else?" He asked me. "Just a water bottle" I said. He ran back to the kitchen and got a water bottle for me. "Thanks" I whispered. "Anything else?" He asked. "Just for you to cuddle with me" I said and kissed his cheek. He cuddled up next to me on the couch and in minutes, we were both sleeping.
