Chapter 4

Riley's POV
Colten held a shirt up to him and acted like a model.

"HOT!" I said and started laughing at him. Goofball. Colten started laughing too.

"I know" he said using his bragging rights. "Should I get it?" He asked me. I smiled at him. "Yes!! If I can pay" I said. "Then that's a no." "Colten! I want to pay for it!" "But I'm paying!" "No!" "Riley! Your crazy and amazing but I'm paying" he said and smiled. He thinks I'm amazing. "Fine" I said and frowned at him.

"I'm paying next time" I whispered. "Sure you are" he said to me. I gasped.

"Where to next?" Colten asked after he paid.

"Starbucks" Kaelee said.

"Oh c'mon white girl! We have to buy you UGGS first!" Spencer said and Colten, Spencer and I all laughed.

"Ha ha. Very funny" Kalee said sarcastically. "But can we please go find the stand?" I said.

"Sure tumblr girl" Colten said and I smiled.

"So I'm hot?" I asked and walked away. I turned around and winked at Colten, his mouth wide open.

"Well are you coming?" I asked them. They all walked towards me and I laughed.

"Nice one" Kaelee whispered to me. I smiled at her. "I know" I whispered back.

The boys were walking behind us and whispering to each other and every once in a while spencer would laugh and I heard Colten get louder.

"What's so funny?" I asked them after they had laughed again.

They both had blank looks on their faces. "Well? Spit it out!" Kaelee said.

"Okay. So well. Ummm. Well...." Spencer said.

"Spencer was making fun of the girls who would walk past" Colten said keeping a straight face. I looked at at Spencer and I was mad.

"Also.... He made fun of you Riley" Colten said and frowned. I looked at Spencer and my eyes started watering.

"Spencer?" I asked my eyes still watering. "I-I-I didn't mean it" Spencer said.

"Seriously? Everyone says that after they insult me" I said. I looked from Spencer, to Colten, to Kaelee. I pushed past both Colten and Spencer and ran away crying.

Colten's POV
Riley ran off crying.

"DUDE!! Your such a douche! She didn't deserve that!" I yelled at Spencer. I chased after Riley and I heard footsteps chasing me.

I found Riley in the food court crying. I ran over to her and sat next to her.

"I'm sorry about him" I said to her and started rubbing her back.

"What did he say about me?" She asked me while she cried. She didn't look up at me.

"It doesn't matter" I said to her. "Yes it does. What did Spencer say?" She asked again.

I froze for a minute. "He said that... You were the ugliest person in the mall" I said and waited for her to say something.

"Really?" She asked letting more tears pour out.

"I'm sorry Riley. I didn't tell you because I didn't want to hurt you" I said.

She picked her head up and faced me. "Thanks. But I'd rather be told and hurt than not be told and let what he said stay a mystery" she said to me.

She looked me in the eyes an do looked into hers. I leaned in and kissed her soft lips.

I backed away and said, "I-I'm sorry" then sat back. She smiled at me.

"I'm not" she said and smiled.

I put my arm around her shoulder and someone came running. It was Kaelee.

"Are you okay?" Kaelee asked Riley.

"I'm better. Thanks" Riley said and smiled. "I told Spencer off. I don't even want to see him any more" Kaelee said and I smiled at Kaelee.

"And I'm not talking to Spencer anymore. If he said that to you then he doesn't deserve us" I said and smiled at Riley.

"You guys are amazing!" Riley said to us and smiled.
