On Monday, I walk to school alone. I have no idea where Eddie went. I have tried contacting him but no luck. It is as if he ghosted me or went off the grid. I am hoping it is the latter. Richard then comes up and pins me against a locker.

"What did you do to her, you freak?" Richard asks.

"Huh?" I ask, confused.

"Wait, do you actually not know what happened?" Richard asks.

"No, I do not know what happened," I say, truthfully.

"My girlfriend, Chrissy, died Saturday night. She was last seen with that boyfriend of yours. That is right. Chrissy and I were at the diner Friday night too," Richard says.

"Wait. Who is Chrissy?" I ask.

"Nobody important. Just my girlfriend who is dead. Now tell me where the hell that boyfriend of yours is. And do not lie either. Or we will have issues," Richard says.

"He-he has not contacted me since Saturday morning. I tried contacting him yesterday and this morning. No reply," I say, truthfully.

"Liar!" Richard yells.

I pull out my phone and show him.

"Oh...you were telling the truth. I am so sorry," Richard says.

"Yeah, sure you are sorry, you asshat. Just leave me alone. And never talk to me again," I say, angry and upset.

Before Richard could reply, I run off. Mike and Dustin were hot on my heels.

"Wait!" Mike yells.

I stop in my tracks.

"What?" I ask.

"We know where Eddie is," Dustin says.

"How?" I ask.

Dustin shows me a letter. It was in Eddie's handwriting.

"Lover's Lake?" I ask.

"Yes. We can take you to him," Mike says.

"Please do," I say.

"First, we need to gather supplies for Eddie. He asked for some cereal and root beer," Mike says.

"Okay," I say.

We do that and rush to Lover's Lake. Eddie was in a cave. I run over to him and hug him tight. He hugs me back.

"Why did you not reply?" I ask.

"Honey, I am so sorry. I had to chuck my phone in the water so I do not get tracked," Eddie says.

I nod and peck his lips. He pecks mine back. Mike gives him the cereal and root beer he asked for. We sit down.

"What do we do now?" I ask.

"I contacted Jane. She is rushing here with Joyce, Jonathan, and Will Byers and Jonathan's friend Argyle. They will be here in about eight hours. Six hour flight to Gary then two hour drive to here," Mike says.

"So we just wait here?" Dustin asks.

"Yeah, pretty much," Mike says.

"We are practically sitting ducks. That is too dangerous for me. The police are most likely after me right now," Eddie says.

"Nobody else knows we are here except for them," Mike says.

"But the police could find us before they get here," I say.

"Jesse has a point. We need to go deeper into the woods. Once we can stop, we can share our location with your girlfriend and her adoptive family," Dustin says.

"Fine," Mike says.

We grab our stuff and go deeper into the woods. A red-haired girl, a blonde-haired girl, and a taller brown-haired boy catch up to us. I have seen them around at Hawkins High.

"Max. Steve. Robin. You made it," Dustin says.

"Who is Max and who is Robin and who is Steve?" Eddie asks.

"I am Max," the red-haired girl says.

"I am Steve," the taller brown-haired boy says.

"I am Robin," the blonde-haired girl says.

Eddie and I introduce ourselves. Once we are deep enough in the woods, we stop and set up camp. Mike shares our location with Jane and her family. I sigh and sit down under a tree a few feet away. Eddie sits next to me.

"Are you okay, love?" he asks.

"Yeah, I am okay, sweetheart. Just tired. Stamina issues," I answer.

"Need a nap?" he asks.

"Nah," I reply.

He smiles and kisses me. I kiss him back.

"Alright, love birds. Come get lunch," Steve says.

"Okay, coming," I say.

Eddie helps me up. We sit down with the others and start eating roasted hot dogs. During lunch, I start spacing out. I am hit by a flashback of the massacre.

"Come on, darling. We need to get out of here," Henry says.

"Henry, I have told you that I am not interested in you," I say.

"Jesse, whatever. I will win you over. Eventually," Henry says.

"I am not dating a killer," I say.

"We are all killers here," Henry says.

"Not all of us," Eleven says, from behind us.

Henry and I turn around.

"You tricked Five and I, Henry. You lied," Eleven says.

"Eleven, I never lied. Papa is the liar," Henry says.

"No," I say.

Henry pins me against the wall. I then wake up screaming before the flashback could continue. I knew what happened. Henry tried to kill me.

"Babe, babe, babe. What happened?" Eddie says, gently pulling me aside so we are out of ear shot of the others.

I tell him about the flashback. Eddie hugs me close.

"Oh, baby. You have been through so much. No wonder you have trust issues," Eddie says.

"I trust you though," I say.

"I know, baby," Eddie says.

I kiss him softly. He kisses me back the same way. He grabs my hand and walks me back to the others. We sit down. I rest my head on his shoulder.

"Everything okay?" Robin asks.

"Yeah. Just a small flashback," I answer.

Eddie kisses my forehead.

"I heard you have powers like Jane," Max says.

"Kind of. When I smile at someone, their nose starts bleeding," I answer.

"Cool," Steve says.

"They have done it to me twice. But they only use it when they are in danger. Not that I am dangerous, of course," Eddie says.

"You are not dangerous, hun," I say.

"I know, baby," Eddie says.
