"Jesse!"" Jane calls.
"Over here!" I call back, a few feet away.
Jane runs over to see me fighting Henry.
"Your smile cannot kill me, my love," Henry says.
"I am not your love. And I am dating Eddie," I say.
"That is why I must kill him," Henry says.
"Damn. You must really want me," I say.
"Of course I do," Henry says, smiling evilly.
I smile widely. Henry's nose starts bleeding heavily.
"Damn it, you bitch!" Henry screams.
"Jesse, go! I have it from here!" Jane yells.
"No! I have to...I have to win!" I yell back, losing energy fast.
I keep smiling. Henry eventually falls unconscious. Jane takes the opportunity and stabs him twice in the heart with a pocket knife. Henry takes his last breath. I wake up, screaming. Eddie runs over to me and puts me on his lap.
"Henry...he is dead. Jane killed him," I say, weakly.
"Okay, baby. Are you okay? Your nose is bleeding again," Eddie says.
"Head hurts. Weak. Tired," I say, weakly.
"Just get some rest. We are all safe now that Henry is gone," Eddie says.
I fall asleep in his arms. The next morning, I wake up and roll over. Eddie was fast asleep. I kiss him softly. He slowly wakes up then kisses me softly back.
"Sorry, babe. I did not mean to wake you," I say.
"Nah. I like your kisses," Eddie says.
"I like yours too," I say, giggling.
Eddie and I make out for a few minutes. Max calls everyone out to breakfast. We get up and make our way over to the picnic table. Max had made bacon and fried eggs with an apple flavored juice box. We sit down and start eating.
"Hey, look! There he is! The freak who killed Richard's girlfriend!" a young man around my age yells.
"Oh, shit," Eddie mutters.
"I got this," I say.
"Be careful, hun," Eddie says, softly.
"I will, love," I say.
I get up and over go to Richard and his friends.
"Eddie did not do anything to Chrissy," I say.
"Oh, look. The freak's girlfriend is here to save his murderous ass," a bully says.
"Nice one, Dalton!" Richard says.
They do a high five. I smile at Richard.
"First off, I am not Eddie's girlfriend. I am his partner. Secondly, I am not a girl. Yes, I was born female but I do not identify as one. I am non binary which means I feel like neither gender. And lastly, I may be a freak but I am a scary freak," I smile.
Richard's nose starts bleeding heavily.
"Richard, your nose," Dalton says.
"Shut up, Lambert. I know," Richard growls.
Richard pushes me into a tree. I stop smiling and push him away.
"You are more than a freak. You...you are a fucking.." Richard says.
"I would not finish that sentence," Eddie says.
"Or what?" Richard asks, turning around.
"My partner can and will kill you," Eddie says.
I look over at Eddie. I feel really dizzy. I then pass out in a heap. When I wake up, Richard and Dalton were gone. Eddie was right next to me. He had blood all over his face.
"A-are you okay?" I ask, weakly.
"Yes, hun. But I am more worried about you. You passed out after using your powers," Eddie says.
"I...I think I am okay. Just weak," I say.
"We need to strengthen your powers more in the tank," Jane says, coming into our tent.
"Will that actually help?" I ask.
"Yes. Henry is dead. He cannot get to you. You will be safe," Jane says.
"They just woke up. And they are very weak. Give them an hour or two," Eddie says.
"No. I can-" I start to say.
"No way, hun. Your health is more important right now," Eddie interrupts.
"Ugh, fine. One hour," I say.
"Deal," Eddie says.
"Very well. We will get everything ready," Jane says.
"Okay," Eddie says.
Jane walks out. I grab a towel and some water. I wet the towel as I start cleaning Eddie's bloodied face.
"Darling, what happened?" I ask.
"Richard and Dalton got into a fight with me. Jane scared them away with her powers though. Launched a big tree branch at them. They ran screaming like little girls," Eddie says.
I chuckle at the last part. Eddie's nose bleeds a little bit. I wipe the blood away.
"I love you," Eddie says.
"I love you too," I say.
I finish cleaning his face and kiss him. He kisses me back. Thirty minutes later, I get into the tank and close my eyes. I wake up in the black void. I start hearing voices all around me. I knew that voice. Dr. Brenner? Papa? How was he alive still?
"Papa!" I call.
No answer.
"PAPA!" I yell.
No answer again. Can he not hear me? I guess not. I then see a Demogorgon. I start running. It starts coming after me. Fast and hard on my heels. I stop, turn around, and smile at it. The head explodes. Blood and guts go everywhere. I eventually wake up screaming. I saw Papa in the void. I was terrified.
"Hun, what happened?" Eddie asks.
"Papa...he saw me. He knows I have my powers still," I say.
"Papa?" Eddie asks.
"Dr. Brenner. The doctor at the lab who conducted experiments on Jane and I," I say.
"Is he coming to us?" Jane asks.
"Yes. He said he knows where we are. He...he put tracking devices on ankles. I know how to get it out," I say.
"Well, let's get this done," Jane says.
"Wait a minute," Steve says.
"What?" I ask.
"Are we even safe?" Steve asks.
"We will be once we get the trackers out," I say.
"Okay. If you say so," Steve says.
Eddie grabs a pocket knife and gets my tracker out. It hurt so bad. I then snap it in half then in half again. Jane does the same to hers when we get hers out.
"Now what?" Robin asks.
"We keep on moving," Joyce says.
"To where?" Max asks.
"Deeper into the woods. We will be safe there," Joyce says.
"Are you sure, Mom?" Will asks.
"Yes, honey. I promise," Joyce says.
"Okay," Will says.
We pack our stuff and keep moving.
