Great first day of school

Great first day of school. Truly fantastic. I'm being sarcastic.

Everything goes well for maybe the first two hours, and then I get a text in social studies class from my mother. I apparently 'forgot to clean the house.' When I know a beating is coming, all I can think about is the impending doom. I can only hope they take it easy on me.

Christian ended up helping me with my inhaler. Holy crap Christian was a really big help. He was mean, but his actions said more than his words. I think we'll be friends. Even if I have to teach him how.

The second text I got was at lunch. Aunt Becky (We just call her our aunt.) texted saying, 'Olivia fell and busted her little head up pretty good.' I couldn't take her home. My mom and Joe would have a fit. They'd be pissed. Talking about medical bills and what not. Then, I'd get blamed, or worse. Her. And that will not happen.

I didn't know what to do. I started to panic, but I didn't have my inhaler. Why, you ask? Because some guy, I don't even know his name, snatched my inhaler. That girl Grace was with him. She told him to do it. He laughed and said, Gladly.

He broke it right in front of my face, laughed, dropped it, and crushed it under his shoe. On the first day of school, I was already bullied, had panic attacks, had someone break my inhaler, and had my sister get injured.

What a day.

Joe and Madeline, my mother, like it when I'm out of the house sometimes. Other times I get beaten for not keeping the house clean.

Olivia is my responsibility, so I take her out of the house when I'm not there. That's why she's in daycare. Callie said she's also allowed at the diner. She can 'help' as Callie calls it. But, really, she just wants to make Olivia feel included. Don't get me wrong, we still teach her how to do things like cook and clean. But we don't MAKE her do anything if she doesn't want to. Callie still pays the little three year old ten bucks every time she helps out.

I can only hope that this afternoon Madeline and Joe aren't home or want me out of the house. Who am I kidding? They're always home.

I drove to the house to grab a bag for Olivia and I. I walked in, and to no surprise, there were smashed plates on the floor, bottles of liquor, smashed glass, food on the freaking walls, and drugs on the tables.

I run into Olivia's room first because if I get caught at least I have Olivia's bag. I guess I don't need need mine.

I run in and grab her favorite Moana backpack. I throw in her favorite teddy which is a fuzzy unicorn with a purple, and blue mane. It has sparkles and it's super fuzzy. We call her Sally. I grab her brush, tooth brush, tooth paste, blanket, and pajamas. I grab her a little dress and coat for tomorrow. I grab her a sweat-shirt and some leggings with flowers for tonight. I grab her soap and shampoo and drop them in a bag because she's going to need a shower. And finally I grab her tablet she uses to play games on while I work.
