I woke up this morning with Olivia wrapped in my arms, snuggling up to me. Groaning, I take a moment to recognize my surroundings. Right. Marcie's house.
Marcie's house is much nicer than mine. Unlike my parents, her parents clean almost constantly. Her room is a nice big room with a bed and a pullout couch. She usually insists on me and Olivia taking the bed, but I refuse to kick her out of her own bed.
She truly is an angel.
The room has baby pink walls and tan curtains pulled slightly apart just to see a sliver of light shining in. When the windows are shown, it's so naturally beautiful.
I gently unwrap my arms around Olivia and lay her little head on the pillow. I slowly move off of the bed, trying my best not to elicit the inevitable groaning of the springs when getting off the pullout. I unplug my phone, grab my bag, and head towards the bathroom.
I check my phone. 5:30 AM. Tuesday. It's only Tuesday...
I plug my curling iron in and hop in the shower.

Once I'm done getting ready for the morning, it is 6:30. Okay, maybe I spent a little time scrolling on Tik Tok to avoid being bored. A girls gotta do what a girls gotta do.
Marcie's quick with showers unlike me, so I don't know why I decided to take one first today. I mentally shrug my shoulders. When I walk out of the bathroom, Marcie is sitting on the bed, reading her book. She's a bookworm, and though I love reading, I simply don't have time. Jobs to do, a kid to feed, bills to pay. Forget about being a teenager.
She looks up from her book and sees me. She smiles. "You're hot," is all she says before she gets up and walks into the bathroom. She's always complimenting me but I feel like she deserves all the compliments. She's so pretty.
Long day ahead.

I finally managed to get Marcie and I both in the car, Olivia dropped off at daycare, and be in school before we're late. I'm Wonder woman.
"See you at lunch," Marcie hugs me, and then she's running off to her first class of the day. I start walking towards my first period too.
Once I walk in, I see that I'm pretty early. Or everyone else is late.
I walk to my seat and set my stuff down. I pull out my phone to see messages from Joe and mom everywhere.
Madeline: Where the fuck are you?
Joe: Get your ass home, you little shit.
Madeline: Why aren't you answering me?
Madeline: I'm sick and tired of how ungrateful you are to us. We give you food, a roof, clothes. We give you everything!
