THE HARMONIOUS blend of bird calls, insect buzzing, and animal rustling echoed through the jungle around Billie as she heard Santiago's voice through the comms. "We're in Lorea's backyard."

Ahead, a translucent fog draped over the path, swirling and dissipating with her every step. Beneath her boots, the ground was carpeted with freshly fallen leaves and damp sediment, moistened by recent rainfall.

"So, what does this guy have against banks?" Will's voice crackled through Billie's earpiece as she moved cautiously through the dense foliage. "At least a safe."

Billie's breaths were shallow and constricted, the discomfort of the bulletproof vest adding to her frustration. She cursed both Pope and her brother silently as she occasionally tugged at the vest, hoping for a moment of relief.

Santiago's voice chimed in next. "The house itself is the safe," he clarified, his words causing Billie to pause and consider their implications, uncertain of what exactly he meant.

All Billie knew was that they were after a man named Lorea, who supposedly had money hidden in his house. However, beyond that, she was in the dark about the specifics. They all were.

Upon reaching a clearing, Billie made sure to crouch to conceal herself in the bushes. From her position, she had the perfect view of Lorea's home but not the gate where Benny was headed.

"I'm at the gate," Benny's voice crackled into her ear, and she craned her head, attempting to search for the area of the gate but her position seemed to block it. Her numb fingers reached for the device, pressing it to enable her to speak. "I'm currently overlooking the house. I don't have visual on the gate," she informed.

"This looks like everything was done about 82% right," Benny's voice came through again. "They got all the toys out here, but these cameras aren't even aimed at the weakest breach point."

After a brief pause, Santiago's voice followed. "Billie, clear your surroundings and head towards Benny."

Billie acknowledged Santiago's instruction with a silent nod, though he couldn't see it. She carefully scanned her surroundings, ensuring there were no threats nearby, before slowly making her way towards Benny's location.

"Bee?" Santiago's voice came through the earpiece once more, his tone carrying a hint of impatience.

Letting out a small sigh, Billie reached for the device. "Copy that, I'm en route to Benny," she replied.

Santiago's tone turned slightly scolding. "Next time, respond," he said firmly.

She ignored his scolding as she moved through the dense foliage, her senses on high alert. However, Santiago's voice interrupted her again. "Bee?"
