George stared out the window of his old room, everything silent. It had been almost a month since Dream and Sapnap had left, and George still hadn't stopped blaming himself for their disappearance.

"George?" Phil walked in behind him. George didn't respond, shifting.

Phil sighed. "I know you're still sad about Dream, but we need you." George still didn't respond, and Phil walked closer. "You can't keep acting like this, George. It won't help anyone. We're all trying to hide from Techno together, aren't we? Besides, if you want to get over grief, you need to do something. Anything."

"I guess you're right," George responded, looking up at Phil.

Phil smiled. "Alright. Now, are you going to come downstairs with me?"

George shook his head, standing up. "I'm going to the library." He walked out of the room and down the hall.

"Wait, why?" Phil yelled after him.

George glanced back. "To learn how to become a human."

George ignored Phil's protests, walking to the old library. Surprisingly, most of the books were undamaged from the fire.

He walked through the aisles, glancing at the titles of random books. He didn't want to be a vampire anymore. His vampirism was why Dream left him. It was why they even got hurt in the first place.

He stopped at a book called "Species Shifting - Possible? Magical Spells and Potions."

"This is it," he said to himself quietly. He sat down, leaned against a shelf, and began looking through it.

Almost an hour had past, when George heard a strange scraping sound. He sat up, glancing around. "...Phil? Wilbur? Is that you?"

The scraping stopped, and then started again, coming closer. George stood up, putting the book back. "Who's there? Show yourself!"

His chest froze when he heard a chuckle, and then a rustle. Techno's voice rung out through the room.

"Oh, poor, poor little Gogy. Dreamie abandoned him, and now he's trying to run from his heritage. I expected nothing less."

George's eyes widened, and he reached out to grab an old ornament from one of the shelves as a shadow appeared at the end of the aisle. Techno.

But this Techno didn't look... human. His eyes were glowing red, and his clawed hands scraped against the shelves. His laugh was scratchier than normal.

"How?" George stammered, stepping back. Techno chuckled, walking forward at the same pace of George's retreating steps.

"You do realize your childhood home isn't that hard to guess, you know?" he said, smirking as if this was just a game to him.

"No, I mean, how did you get in here?" George asked. "Only vampires and humans they invite can get in here. And you definitely weren't allowed in here. So how did you get in? Unless...." George froze, contemplating the only remaining possibility.

"Unless I'm a vampire?" Techno laughed, his fangs gleaming in the moonlight. "Smart child."

"I'm not a fucking child." George narrowed his eyes.

"You sure act like one," Techno hissed. "And besides, you are barely a fraction of my age."

George kept his eyes on Techno as he kept walking backward. "If you're a vampire, then why are you trying to kill us? Why did you kill any of the other vampires?"

Techno shrugged. "Just finishing up what my parents meant to do."

George frowned, and then gasped, realizing the answer. "You're a Grecian vampire!"

All the answers clicked. Grecian vampires were vampires that were around a few thousand years before George's species, the Romanian vampire. Wars had broken out between the two species, and the Grecian vampires were thought to be wiped out. But... the way Techno had easily survived all their attacks. The speed of which techno was able to get to Britain and the castle. Techno's obsession with Greek myths. and... George's eyes widened, as a memory flashed through his head.

The castle was burning down, and George lunged at Techno, the Grecian vampire growling and throwing him off, before advancing on him. Behind Techno, George could see Phil and Wilbur run into the forest, Tommy on Wilbur's back.

"Foul little creature," Techno had growled, and cast a spell, hitting George's eyes. Most likely, it had been meant to blind George, but Techno couldn't complete it, as Phil tackled him, the smaller vampire kicking at Techno before grabbing George's arm, and the two ran into the forest, leaving Techno at the burning castle, alone.

George gasped. "That was... that was you. You killed my family!"

Techno laughed, baring his teeth as he pulled out a silver axe. "About time you remembered. I was an idiot to try and cripple you, instead of just cutting your little head off. I won't make that mistake again."

George reached the end of the aisle, and immediately turned, sprinting out of the library. Techno's laugh echoed through the halls after him. "Run, little lamb. No matter how much you try to hide, I, the lion, will catch you."
