I'm walking home from my personal finance class when my phone buzzes.

Miko: hey wanna hang out after class?

Me: sure. your place?

Miko: sure

I walk to mikos dorm and knock on the door

"Hi lumi. come in" Miko said 

"Where's Ei?" I said "You two are usually attached at the hip"

"she had class today," Miko said

"oh, speaking of class I have a bunch of homework from Professor Alhaitum's class. so if you want we can do a joint study sesh" I said

"ya, now that I think about it I also have to study for a quiz. so sure" she said 

We went into Miko's room and I sat on her bed and worked on homework and she studied at her desk.

"oh hi lumine," Noelle said standing in the doorway

"Hi Noelle," I said,

"how was your date yesterday?" Noelle asked sitting on the bed

"Great," I said

"oh ya I didn't ask about that how'd It go with Tartaglia," miko asked turning around in her chair

"well... he kissed me!" I said

Noelle looked shocked and Miko squealed "OMG!! Was he a good kisser?!"

"Well, I think so," I said. I was about to tell them about his name but I stopped myself. he trusted me with it and he never told anyone as far as I know

"Well did he win you anything at the carnival?" Noelle said

"ya he won me a plushie if you guys wanna see it I could go get it," I said

"go ahead," Noelle said

I walked to my dorm and grabbed the whale plush and when I got back to Miko's room Ayaka had appeared

"Tartaglia kissed you?!?" Ayaka said "SPILL!!"

"Well he invited me onto the Farris wheel for the fireworks and he started telling me stories about constellations and he kissed me," I said

"We love an astrology boy," Noelle said

"We already have an Astro nerd we don't need another one," Ayaka said. the room erupted in laughter which suddenly stopped when we heard a crash from the main room

"Ei?" Miko said walking towards the door. she opened the door and ei burst in. Her long purple hair was flowing down her shoulders and not in her usual braid and her clothes were dirty. she had a panicked look on her face. She was mumbling

"Ei what happened," Miko said walking up to her and grabbing her shoulders

Ei muttered something and Miko walked her to the bed

"ei what happened why are you so dirty?"Ayaka said

Ei didn't say anything she just looked at me

"Noelle get her some water," Miko said

"I'll go get her a hairbrush," Ayaka said

"m-miko" ei said

"ya, what's wrong what happened" Miko said. her ears were lowered and she had a worried look on her face

"W-wheres l-lumine" ei mumbled

"I'm right here what's wrong ei?"I asked

"It's a-aether," she said

"What's wrong with Aether," I said panicked

"H-he..." ei whispered,

"he what?" I asked

"H-he w-was k-kidnapped," ei said

"What?!" I said "No that... that can't be possible... how? Why?"

"I d-don't k-know," Ei said

all I could hear was the sound of my heartbeat in my ears. my only brother was gone, kidnapped by who? I looked at ei and Ei looked terrified

"Lumine can we talk over here for a second?" Miko said pulling me towards the door "Everything will be ok. ei is stressed so maybe go to diluc and get him to get the security team involved ok?"

I couldn't get any words out so I just nodded and walked towards the door. my heart was in my throat. I don't even realize when I get to dorm 3A. I knock on the door and Ajax opens it and says"Lumine? what's wrong? come in"

Ajax walks me towards the couch, helps me sit down, and asks me "What's wrong why are you crying?" I hadn't even noticed I was crying

"A-aether" I whispered

"What about him?" he asked

"H-he's..." I whispered through a lump in my throat "G-gone"
