You Know My Name

Chapter 13

The day is Saturday in case anyone was wondering. I'm trying to make my days of the week better because the chapters before this are crazy and I apologize.

We pulled into the parking lot of the school, it was 7:00 pm. Today was my first night at night school.

"Well, here we are," Austin said as he turned off the car. I sighed and unbuckled my seatbelt, before I got the door open Austin was already opening it. He helped me out of the car and locked the doors behind me.

"You know you don't have to walk me in, I'll be fine," I said.

"No, I must I have to meet your classmates!" He joked. "No but really I want to walk you in." I sighed and he put his arm around my shoulders and we walked in. Most of the lights where off inside giving me an eerie feeling. The school was silent except for the sound of our footsteps as we walked down the hall. We found the computer room where my class would be held and walked in. There where about eight kids already in the room and the teacher at a desk in the front. There was a clipboard on the wall with a sign that said 'sign in'. I checked my name off the list, told Austin goodbye and sat down at a computer. I signed in with my school ID and waited for instruction. After about 5 minutes had passed and a couple more kids came in the teacher stood up. He walked over to white board and began writing page numbers on the board.

"You will do pages 235 and 236 out of the workbook using the program installed on the computer, when you're done save it. Then you are free to go." he said then sat back down. I opened the book and began to work. The assignment was really easy, just typing, I finished in about 20 minutes. I saved my work and left the classroom. I made my way down the hall and called Austin. "Hey I finished," I said when he picked up.

"Okay, just come outside I'm here," he said.

"You never left?" I said as I walked towards the front doors.

"Nah, I figured that it wouldn't be too long and I didn't want you here alone."

I smiled and walked out to the Jeep. I climbed in and buckled my seatbelt then turned to Austin.

"How was it?" He asked.

"Boring, easy," I responded.

"Well, only 9 more classes to go."

He pulled out of the parking lot and we made our way to the house. As we drove down the familiar road I saw someone walking alone on the sidewalk. They looked so familiar, I tapped Austin and pointed to the person.

"Do you know her?" He asked.

"I think so, pull over." He pulled over and I got out. I walked up to the girl and tapped her shoulder. She turned to face me.

"Oh my goodness Taylor you can't do that!" Veronica said to me and wrapped me in a hug.

"When did you get back?" I asked her.

"Last night," She replied.

"Are you staying with your mom?" I asked.

"I don't know, Charles asked me to move in with him."

"Oh, is that good?" I asked as the cold wind caused us both to shiver.

"Kinda, I mean I don't hat-"

"Hey Taylor your friend can come back to the house for a little bit if you would prefer," Austin interrupted.

"Oh okay," I looked to Victoria for agreement. She nodded and climbed in the back of the Jeep. I climbed in the front and buckled my seatbelt. Austin began down the road again.

"Oh yeah, Austin this is my friend Victoria. Victoria this is-"

"OH MY GOSH TAYLOR I LEAVE FOR ONE WEEK AND I MISS EVERYTHING OMG!"
