Taylor's POV
I walked home slowly, embracing the fall air. I got home, and I changed into my pajamas.
I was realieved when I realized it was only Tuesday. That meant Kyle wouldn't be home til Thursday. I sat down on the couch in the living room, and switched on the t.v. The news was on, yay.
"Man put in jail for robbery and assault, Jean Stepha has all the details." the anchor said.
"Thanks Pat. A man identified as Kyle Robberts committed a robbery, at this gas station behind me. The witnesses in the store said that he demanded for money, and when the clerk wouldn't give him it, he shot the clerk, took the money and ran. Police caught him trying to rob another gas station 4 blocks down the road. Kyle will be in trialed on Tuesday. The clerk is in critical condition." I turned off the T.V. and practically jumped off the couch.
They caught him! They finally caught him! I'm not going to get beat anymore!! I ran upstairs grabbed everything I owned, which was very little, and ran to Kyle's room. I grabbed all of his money and went to walk through the house to make sure I left nothing behind. After checking the house I walked to the front door. I stepped outside and could practically feel freedom. I was free of Kyle, and this awful house.
I already had another house that Kyle didn't know about. I had bought it before I was forced to move in with Kyle. I decided I wasn't going to stay in this town much longer, I was going to move at the end of the school year. I walked down the street until I came to the crosswalk. I crossed the street, turned the corner and walked up to a house almost completely hidden by trees, my new home. I smiled and pulled my suitcase up to the bright red door. I opened the door and took in my surroundings. It was small, because that was all I could afford, but it fit me nicely. I walked through the entry hall, which led into the living room. The living room had a worn-out brown leather sofa, and T.V. I walked towards the kitchen, pushing the swining door. Inside the kitchen there were three bar stools at the counter, and an off white circular table with four chairs. I left the kitchen and headed toward the bedroom off the living room. My new bedroom had a queen bed, a black dresser, with a vanity to match. There was bathroom connected to the room. I had to buy all this furniture on my own and it took forever. I had to do it in secret so Kyle wouldn't know but I got it done.
I started unpacking my things. I unpacked all of my toiletries and then moved to my dresser. I only got done putting away my shirts when my cell phone rang.
"Hello?" I said nervously, because I didn't recongnize the number.
"Hey honey." I froze in my tracks dropping the phone. I watched it fall to the floor. The screen read 'Call Disconected'.
No....How??
Austin's POV
I drove up to my house after school. It was a little later, because I had detention, not surprising though, I'm pretty sure all teachers have a hatered for me so whatever..
"AUSTIN!!!!" My little sister Eva screamed running from the front door to me. I knelt down and opened up my arms bracing for impact.
"Eva!" I smiled picking her up and carrying her inside
"Mom said that you would watch Cinderella with me." She said as we walked to the front door.
"Did she, now?" I set her down kissing her forehead and walked into the kitchen. "Hi, mom."
"Hi. How was school?" She walked over to the stove turning it on. There was an edge to her voice.
"It was good, I mean it wasn't awful." I said sitting down pulling out my homework, "Mom what's wrong?" I hated it when she would hide stuff from me.
My mom was a quite person when shes either stressed or sad. It's depressing really, because she's always so excited, and happy about something stupid.
"It's nothing... It's just that your brother is going to court and I'm stressing about it." She said rubbing her temples, "He makes it so hard for us."
"It will all be ok mom you have me ok, no matter what happens. The judge will do what's right I promise." I gave her a small hug.
"I know.." She whispered,"thank you."
"Now if you'll excuse me I am going to watch Cinderella." I said and skipped out to the living room.
"Austin! What about your homewrok?" She called to me.
"That's for later!" I said smiling, and going to sit with my sister on the couch.
"Ready to watch?" She giggled at me.
"Oh my beautiful little princess, I was born ready for this!" I chuckled, and ruffled her hair.
"Good." She smiled, hitting play.
I just love these people to death. After all they are my family, and I would do pretty much anything for them.
